49ers. Too bad we won't run plays with more than 1 option.

Re: Best NFL receiving corps

Those claiming the 49ers, what am I missing here?

Old Anquan Boldin, old Stevie Johnson, Vernan Davis and Michael Crabtree?

I have to go with Denver. Oddly enough, I don't think we give the season they had last year enough credit.

Re: Best NFL receiving corps

Chicago I suppose although what they lack in 3rd and 4th options they make up for in the 1st 2.

I'm drawing a blank on the complete rosters, but Denver and New Orleans would also be in the running. Obviously we know Denver's weapons, Saints added a potential x-factor in Cooks along with possible growth of Stills. I really like Cobb/Jordy in GB too but don't know who else they got.

If Stevie Johnson is old, why isn't Davis old? Crabtree will be 27 this year, which is the same age as Johnson currently. So, isn't Crabtree going to be old by mid season?

Who gives a **** about age? If they produce, that's all that matters.

Fair enough on the age thing.

Produce? The whole 49ers passing offense had 21 TDs and 3200 yards last year.

I never said they are going to produce but we haven't seen them this season. Stevie can stretch the field whenever he's not blaming God for his drops.

I sure as hell didn't vote for them because I don't think they're the best but I thought the age thing was a bad example.

Re: Best NFL receiving corps

Basically, I don't look at stats, some offenses produce more passing/receiving yards than others just by their nature. Watch what happens to Deckers numbers this year. Stat people are like the people in Denver who claim that Shaun Phillips was as good a player last season as JJ Watt just because of sack totals, which is absolute garbage.

When I look at the 4 guys in San Francisco, I see four guys who have made Pro Bowls or in Crabtree's case is at least in the discussion.

Crabtree and Boldin have elite hands, great instincts with the ball in the air, and are aggressive masterful route runners.

Johnson is an explosive deep threat despite being easily doubled by the defense thanks to his teams crappiness.

Davis is inconsistent but at his best is one of the bigger matchup nightmares out there.

Put these guys with Manning and our offense doesn't miss a beat. Probably even gets better, IMO

This is just my opinion. I respect all of your and enjoy reading different perspectives. Please don't flame me.
