And now he's out for the year as well. Again.

Sf?

Crabtree isnt even a really good wr in the nfl.

Thomas is definitely a better receiving te than davis.

Dthomas is a top 2-3 we in the nfl.

I wouldn't even put sf in the discussion for top 5-10 wr units.

I think chicago could make a case, which continues to provide validity to how overrated jay cutler is.

I kind of agree with you about SF's core as a hole. Vernon Davis is definitely an elite receiving tight end though. He's probably the best down field tight end in the game. If he was on Denver he would be breaking all kinds of records.

The wide receivers themselves though? I think they are all decent but nothing spectacular. Stevie Johnson is overrated, I think Ellington takes his job as a slot guy later this year or next year.

I'd probably put Reggie Bush ahead of Pettigrew as a receiving option.

Re: Best NFL receiving corps

I'm having a hard time deciding between Chicago and Denver.

The Bears have so much size and athleticism in their recieving corps it's almost unfair to cover them, Marshall can catch everything thrown his way and create separation with his size, then bring it down with power. Bennett is underrated, he is pretty athletic. And what is there to say about Alshon Jeffery, he hasn't even hit his prime yet and can go get jump balls with the best of them, helped by that huge wingspan. Not too slow, either.

The Broncos, on the other hand, have Demaryius Thomas, who is strong and can fly down the field, with or without the ball (led the NFL in yards after catch last season). Welker's lateral agility and elusiveness proves killer in the slot receiver role, but he's old and injury prone. Julius Thomas' athleticism is nothing to laugh about either.

Ultimately, my decision comes to the Bears, because of the guy they've got under center. Not taking shots at Cutler or anything but... Manning is a surefire HOFer and drastically improves any offense he's thrown into.
