Week 6: Carolina Panthers (3-2) @ Cincinnati Bengals (3-1)

The Panthers are about to start what might be the toughest 5 game stretch in the NFL this year. After Cincinnati, Carolina plays @ Green Bay, vs. Seattle, vs. NO (Thursday Night), and @ Philly (Monday Night). If they get out of this stretch at .500, it will be a success.

Cincinnati is coming off of a beat down at the hands of New England. They'll be angry and looking to make a statement. The last time the Panthers played an AFC North team that was angry, they got hammered by Pittsburgh on national TV.

Carolina will struggle to stop the Cincinnati pass game. That's the only thing that I know will happen. Other than that, I don't know what to expect. My gut says a Cincinnati win

AFC North... and I think the last time is when they got hammered by Baltimore, after the Steelers game.

All points still stand though. I liked the Panthers D showing some life last week against the Bears. The biggest issue in both the PIT an BAL games was the RBs dropping like flies. Hopefully Stewart will be able to play with at least Whitaker behind him, and both can survive the entire game. If Cam had healthy ankles I'd have more faith in them dealing with the CIN front 7. As is, I think Cincy takes this but the Panthers will put up a good fight.

Baltimore was coming off of a win. Cincy is coming off of a loss, same as Pitt was. That was the connection I was going for. Doesn't really matter though, I can easily see this as a Cincy blowout.

Whitaker was apparently close to 100% last week and never stepped on the field. For some reason, he's not going to get a chance unless there's another injury.

Yeah I assumed Whit had a setback or something but I guess not. Seems strange they wouldn't try him over a guy just pulled off the practice squad who hasn't shown anything on the field. Looks like Stewart's playing anyway... and AJ Green is not. With arguably the best MLB in the NFC, I think they can contain Benard a bit which would make this REALLY interesting. I don't think the Bengals offense will look too great. I think it'll be a matter of Cam and the offense limiting the turnovers and the O/special teams keeping Cincy from starting with short fields.

Come on Carolina, win this game please. Do it for any lingering affection for Steve Smith lol
