Re: Week 12: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-8) @ Chicago Bears (4-6)

Ok. I guess I'd like to rephrase what I ment to say. I don't want the Bears to lose out, I'm not rooting against them...but I don't want any false hope that this is going to work. I don't want them to finish strong, miss the playoffs, and then make the decision to give Trestman another chance. And I feel like the Bears will do that if they win out or win 5 of the last six. They'll argue that things are starting to come together. But they won't say anything about how these games don't matter.

I will agree that rooting for your team to tank is not really the nature of any sport, so best case scenario: the Bears finish strong and still Fire Trestman

I will stick by my statement that 8-8 is no better than 7-9. If you miss the playoffs, one win dies not matter whatsoever

Trestman's not getting fired either way man... and Cutler isn't going anywhere either. They'll probably get a new d coordinator but Trestman is only in year 2. Playing musical coaches isn't going to fix the team anyway.

I agree were stuck with Cutler, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But I don't think that this team will succeed under Trestman. The defense is just embarrassing, and the offense that was great last year is abysmal this year. It's seems as if they don't have a true gameplan.

Trestman almost got fired after the Green Bay game. The Bears' front office had a closed door meeting in the bowels of Lambeau right after that game. To say he's not going anywhere is just not true.

If they do lose most of their remaining games, there's no way he'll be brought back. Tucker will be gone also.

Cutler on the other hand, I'm not so sure. According to Mike Florio, there would be some interest from speaking with some executives around the NFL.

Of course there would be some interest in Cutler around the league. Have you seen some of the starting QBs teams trot out there? We'll see if he's actually shopped around.

Saying Trestman isn't going anywhere no matter what is ridiculous imo. I have the feeling he's coaching for his job the rest of this season.

These two teams are trying hard to be more awful than each other right now.
