Re: Playoff Race

Dolphins,Bills,Browns,Chiefs losses obviously hurt those teams alot.

Chargers,Steelers,Ravens leading the AFC WC playoff race right now. But things obviously can/probably will change over next 2 weeks in terms of who might be in/out of AFC playoff race.

On NFC side, not really as much of a change in the week. Still seems like we could very well have 1 of Eagles/Cowboys or Packers/Lions heading into week 17 where they could either walk out as division winners, or miss playoffs completely.

The Eagles/Cowboys game is more likely to have that. That 49ers loss today means that Detroit and Green Bay are both in with two more wins. They have the tiebreakers on both teams from the NFC East.

Playing around with ESPN playoff machine...looks like Eagles/Cowboys will almost for sure have that situation. Either division leader or no playoffs. Either of those teams have a tiebreaker with 1 or more of Packers,Lions,Cards or Seahawks, the NFC East team loses it.

The best a 2nd place NFC East team can finish is 11-5. So basically if the Lions,Packers,Seahawks each win 2 more games, they clinch playoffs, can still make it with 10 wins, but it'd be harder to do. Cards need to win just 1 to clinch a playoff spot.

So after week 16, looks like NFC playoff spots could be all locked up.

Cowboys beat the Seahawks so they have a head to head tie breaker with them so I wouldn't set this scenario in stone yet.

I know we have H2H over Philly but what about Dallas?

I'm assuming it's Conference Record?

Right now it's conference record but if Dallas wins out and Green Bay loses one of their last four Dallas would get the tie breaker based on record in common games. Dallas beat both Seattle and New Orleans, two teams Green Bay lost to.
