This one is a wrap. Hopefully DET/DAL make it interesting for us.

So we agree it isn't John Fox that has given the Broncos success but the personnel on the field.

Why then are we punishing Lewis for getting to the playoffs an equal amount of time with far inferior personnel?

Lewis is a darn fine coach but when you've won 100 games and not a single playoff contest there's something to be said for making a change at some point.
I agree coaches have a very large influence. And you're right, Fox did a great job pre-Manning. I mean he got them a playoff victory with Tebow lol.

My only point is if he is a darn fine coach, who are they firing him for? McDaniels? Gase?

What's going to get this team to win a playoff game?

IMO it's not coaching, it's the players that will get that playoff win.

Coaches get their teams through a season. Once they get to the playoffs it's not coaching that wins or loses because they don't do much differently (short of personnel issues) than they have the previous 16 games.

Agreed with this. I like Lewis honestly and I think he's a good coach, but as has been said before. This is a results oriented business and at some point you have to do something different. He's been there for over a decade now and has zero playoff wins to show for all his trips to the postseason. Today was rough because of all the injuries but man, talk about going out with a whimper.

Ask Charger fan about firing your coach after a winning season and multiple playoff appearances. #NORV

The Colts are simply a better team.

The Bengals went to the playoffs exactly twice in 20 years before Lewis got there.

Yeah it was a good run for the Bengals. They made into the playoffs. Better luck next season, I hope. Congrats to the Colts. They're facing a tough opponent next week, whomever it is.

They already know who they are playing since Baltimore won last night.
