Put in Gabberet. Can't get much worse than it already is.

The defense deserves better than this putrid offense today.

3 years ago, the hype train for RG3 and Kaepernick was full speed ahead.

3 years later, nobody wants to be on it.

Re: Week 4: Green Bay Packers (3-0) at San Francisco 49ers (1-2)

Baalke has been trying to replace all the first and second round picks in the OL with 3rr and fourth rounders and some injury red shirt value picks like Thomas.

Anthony Davis' retirement caught them flatfooted but he went for AFC East rejects in Devey and Pears who along with Marcus Martin have been absolute disasters.

Defense is somewhat in better shape though again, the record of red shirts like Carradine, Aacker and Reaser, the jury is way out.

But the unpleasant truth is, after plotting all last year to get rid of Harbaugh -- whose only crime is the fans and media gave him too much credit for the team's success at the expense of the owner and the front office -- Jed and Brent didn't have any plans for getting good replacement coaching staff.

The allegation is that they think their player personnel moves are so good, it doesn't matter who coaches the team.

So they didn't go aggressively after the top candidates. And maybe after the debacle with Harbaugh, many coaches were wary. They end up with farting Tomsula and have to scramble to fill out the staff, because other coaches don't know Tomsula nor want to work under him.

They end up with Mangini and Cryst as coordinators, mainly because no other team were looking to hire them.

Yeah coaching doesn't matter.

Wouldn't matter who was coaching the 9ers, they have a pretty trash roster outside of a couple bright spots. You are right that coaching does matter though.

Sometimes I wish they would have gotten Rex Ryan , but he has a bad track record of developing qb's so that may not have been a good idea. LOL I never heard of Geep Cryst til they hired him. I had to google him to find out his brother is Paul Cryst from Wisconsin. But let's give Tomsula a chance . He was an excellent d line coach and he doesn't have much to work with on this roster . Seems like most people on the 49ers facebook page really don't like him. I feel for the guy.

The 49ers have some crappy tight ends , except for VD . Only 1 quality back, when they need 2 . Can't rely on Hyde only. Patton, Boldin, White , Smelter are all quality receivers (the last two will be in time). I like Navarro Bowman , Lynch , and Eric Reid on defense. so yeah...more than a few bright spots

So basically a crappy QB with one decent RB, 2 TEs who are no better than average at this point and a bunch of #2-3 WRs being forced as #1s.

So yeah, he was right in his assessment.
