I see the Bengals dropped the hammer on the '85 Bears...

Our defense has been pretty disappointing this year. Of course, our offense becomes something respectable and the defense ends up being a bit underwhelming. I guess when you're expected to be an all time great defense there's not much room for error. But damn if it doesn't feel like a wasted chance...
...who expected them to be an all time great defense outside of some Bills fans and Rex Ryan?

Andy Dalton looking like he is finally putting it together.

LOL, I didn't but I thought it would be considerably better than it is right now. Rex's head coaching respect is dipping closer to Andy Reid status (Have they fired him yet?).

I don't think many expected all-time great, but they were definitely expected to be an elite defense this year after they were last year. It's pretty shocking how average they've been. If you had said before the year began that last year's arguably top 3-5 defense would add a rookie that's been one of the top 5 or so corners in the NFL up to this point, it would be almost impossible for the defense to be playing this poorly.

The defensive line was expected to be possibly the best in the NFL this year and they didn't even come close to pressuring Dalton at any point yesterday, and unlike Brady and Eli, he was actually hanging onto the ball to let plays develop downfield a decent amount of the time.

Yep...I, as Patriots fan, expected the Bills defense to be a great defense something like top 5-7 this year. They were pretty good last year as you said and they brought in a defensive minded guy in Rex Ryan.

They still have time to turn it around. If they come out in the 2nd half of the season and play like they did last year, then all this becomes moot.

One thing to keep in mind:

Quote:
Howard WGR @hsimon62
FWIW: Brady/Eli/Dalton are combined 14-3 with 5,066 yds passing, 39 TD's and 7 INT's so for this season.
Last year we did stop some elite QBs, this year we should have been better but we are in a new system. Our schedule is a bit softer coming up, so it should get better.
