I don't know...but I'm leaning towards no because he isn't on the 53 man yet. And even though he isn't on the 53 yet, I mentioned him because anything can happen with Belichick.

Patriots beat the Jets by an average 1.5 points in 2 games last year

Jets have a vastly improved Offense and a very good defense

They have guys who can guard Gronk and Edelman

Jets win 20-14
Jets do not have anyone who can cover Gronk.
LB is the Jets weakest position and we are hurting at CB with Skrine and Williams both questionable. And pass coverage is not Calvin Pryor's strength so I can't see them putting a safety on him.

The Jets pass rush by the DL is key. They've underperformed IMO. IF they can get to Brady, they have a fighting chance. If not, Brady will pick them apart.

I don't have faith in Chan Gailey to call a good offensive game against them. He's the king of conservative. The Pats will try to stop Chris Ivory and make Fitzpatrick beat them.

I don't think he can.

I can. Tough defense (led by Bowles) and utilizing the run game. Ivory is the bellcow there, but Powell and Stacy have experience and are good players in their own right.

I think they've kept things simple knowing they don't have any supreme talents at skill positions (maybe Ivory? Marshall playing like he still is) and just playing straight up football.

Having been through Fitzpatrick, I want to see if he holds up for NYJ. Still like the guy a lot.

I guess, because I'm hugely invested in this being an AFC East showdown, that I'm pulling for the Pats to knock off the Jets. But I expect this to be a bruising game. If the Jets pull the upset... whoo-ee. We got ourselves a battle for the East.

Only thing that's surprised me about the Jets so far is the running game has been stronger than I expected. Ivory has taken his game to another level so far. We'll see how he holds up over the course of his year.

Cromartie or Revis can matchup with him at times since the Patriots don't have that big time outside receiver

Edelman's pinky has been disfigured for years. Watch his interview with Rich Eisen from after the superbowl.

The Jets aren't putting Revis or Cromartie on Gronk even if he lines up outside. That's such a Rex move.

I haven't seen Bowles adjust that drastically so far based on what the offense is doing.

Would be interesting if he does though. I just can't see it.

Chandler (the other TE?) may have a career day though. Whoever our LBs are covering, Brady is going to go after them.

Yup, then you adjust for that and Gronk gets his numbers anyways.
