Re: 2016 NFL Draft

Apparently, Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith has significant enough lingering damage to his knee that he's speculated to miss "at least" the 2016 season.

Thought question: could a team draft Smith, then immediately put him on the non-football injury list for two years (or until he recuperates, whichever happens first)? (I'm assuming that since the injury happened outside the NFL it counts as a non-football injury)

The next question, if this is something teams can do: if you have to redshirt a guy essentially two seasons, how high can you possibly take him in the draft? Is there any modern precedent for how such a draft prospect is valued?

How could I forget about Brad's insight last year. I'm ashamed.

I'm in favor of the Cowboys passing on a QB and entering the same dark era that followed the retirement of Aikman.

Re: 2016 NFL Draft

After such a disastrous season, I'm excited about the #6 pick. Hopefully two quarterbacks go in the top 5. If Bosa (doubtful) or Ramsey (maybe) drop to the Ravens, either would be a no-brainer. Like Calhoun, Spence, and Hargreaves too.

Yes we do. People like him at least make the thread interesting.

I think wittem is Brad.

Bosa might be there. His stock is dropping like a rock. I think Ramsey is gone by 6. Just a guess there.

Doesn't playing against lesser talent also mean that you're playing with lesser talent making this a completely moot point your're trying to make?
