To be fair, his own team couldn't have believed in him too much if they had him play out a one year deal. Young franchise QBs never have to do that. It worked out for Cousins though because he's about to get broke off.

He's a second year starter, and playing under the franchise tag as a QB is nothing to sneeze at. Gotta look at the fine print when mixing the business side of analysis with the on the field play.

Dalton and Kaepernick signed similar "style" deals, and it's clear the thinking of each of them from their respective teams couldn't be farther apart. I'm also sure the Panthers thought very highly of Josh Norman the player, but business said to let him walk. Not to mention the Ravens just did the same thing with Flacco (and ended up losing out for it too).

To wide open WR's. Those throws aren't there with Randall and Shields on the field.

Tired of hearing the injury card every time they lose.

Most of the issues go beyond that.

You only let a QB play out a franchise tag if you're unsure of what you have. The price of any good QB has been trending in one direction (UP) for a decade so if a team isn't locking one in when they can, it's a tacit* admission that they don't think the price will go up because they don't know if he's actually good.

I'm sure the R's are happy they were wrong but you can't really call people skeptical of Cousins "haters" when his own coaches/team were skeptical.

*actually, I don't even know how tacit it was given Cousins "Look at me now" reaction. Sounds like they told him they were skeptical.

Not talking about the organization im talking about the fans. There was/is a large contingent of Redskin fans who were RGIII fans and wanted nothing to do with Cousin. Redskins has every reason to franchise him. Now they know what they have its up to them to make the deal.

They couldn't have been skeptical considering they pushed the last guy(RG3)out and then the only person they brought in and also brought back was McCoy.

But there was never any doubt they weren't going to pay him because letting him walk would be putting them right back in the same position they were in back in '12.
