Don't draft picks typically draw stronger returns than players, though?

Yea they do and I don't think that the Pats would get anything like the Bears, Texans, or Chiefs gave up for Trubisky, Watson and Maholmes respectively. But to say that the Pats couldn't have gotten a late 1st is ridiculous. When these completely unproven guys are moving for multiple first rounders I just find it funny that everyone thinks we couldn't get at least a late first (25-32) for Jimmy G. And I actually saw a New England beat guy say that the Pats had already turned down an offer of a 1st and second.

Like where the Seahawks are sitting right now. Six picks coming up in day two and a lot of players I'd be happy with.

Insert very strong word here.

How do you ruin goodwill you have gained after a couple of good drafts and a superbowl run? Trade 3 picks to move up 5 spots in the first round that's how. Same old falcons, different day.

I hear our soccer team is pretty good

Re: 2017 NFL Draft- Philadelphia

Trading for Watson seems like desperation rather than desire. The Texans mismanaged the **** out of this entire thing and had to give up a 2nd just to get rid of Osweiler then swapped firsts this year and gave up a first next year to the same damn team to pick Watson. Pathetic management all around.

That said, it's good that they're taking steps to try and remedy their propensity to get dicked.

I hope the losers in charge don't ruin Watson now. There is absolutely zero that indicates to me that Bill O'Brien can groom Deshaun Watson into a superstar.

You're trying to play a semantics game and it doesn't make sense.

His point is very valid.

No matter how you want to spin it, the Pats were asking for two straight up firsts (no swapping first round picks), they simply swapped one spot in the draft order here.

VERY different. You can spin it how you want, but the poster is correct in what he is saying.

Re: 2017 NFL Draft- Philadelphia

Thompson pretty much confirming that he'll be trading back to acquire more picks in the Draft and is already fielding calls for the 1st pick in the 2nd round, per Ian Rapoport.

Either way, lots of good value players still available for us so I'm not mad about trading down at all. I like where we're at right now.

Tampa will most likely have the best offense in the world. Ever.
