Smith chose O'Brien. Smith buys the groceries. Smith chose not to prioritize fixing what was a dreadful OL last season, and compounded that error by not reaching a deal with Duane Brown.

So can we expect this type of performance from the Jaguars defense the whole season, or was it an outlier?

Undetermined by this game. The Texans offense is complete trash.

Re: Week 1: Jacksonville Jaguars (0-0) @ Houston Texans (0-0)

Jaguars went the tried and true route and owned the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. This is similar to how their teams were the first time Coughlin was there. They owned the Texans OL, and effectively shut down Watt, Clowney, & Mercilus.

The benching might be the best thing for Tom Savage in the long term. He'll be a FA after this season, and will probably get a good deal of interest as an unknown, but promising QB.
