His leg, to me it looks like his knee is still up. And then he kind of lifts it to keep it off the ground. That may be considered the knee idk. Anyways the runoff is a pretty stupid rule, Stafford would have gotten them lined up and snuck it in in 8 seconds for the win.

Re: Week 3: Atlanta Falcons (2-0) @ Detroit Lions (2-0)

I hate the game ending on a ref call and honestly don't know if I agree. As a Falcon fan I'll take the call but as a football fan gotta question calling that back.

First the argument for, Poole's foot was pretty clearly on the receivers foot before he entered and it does seem like the knee touches before the crosses the plane. I think that is clear enough to rule him down before the TD.

The argument against, the contact was incidental and it doesn't seem like he fully touches clear enough to rule exactly at what point he is down. It was ruled a TD on the field and there was no 100% undeniable evidence shown that he was down before only that it looks possible. Regardless the run off rule sucks and they should have had one more shot at the endzone.

The way I see it had it been called short on the field it was clear contact was made and wasn't clear if he made the TD and wouldn't have been overturned, on the other end O don't think it was definitive enough to over turn the other way either. Mike Pereira made the call before the refs did and both agreed so maybe I'm wrong but it's suspect. That said we played pretty awful in the second half and the Lions played a good game, I hate that it is soured with a questionable call.

That said I can't say I agree or disagree only that this is going to be controversial as hell.

I hadn't seen the touch on the shoulder here by poole. I can't lie that does look prettt definitely down by contact. That is a hard call though. Still I think that run off rule in that situation is questionable without the officials timeout for review they would have had time to do hurry up and get one more try at the endzone. I would be pissed if that was the call made on us in that situation.

Runoff rule aside, the refs could have at least attempted to get the clock right if they're overturning the call

Ky, don't show me that. I was coming to terms with the rule just being dumb. But that just makes things worse.

After winning so many close ones last season, I expect a few of these this year. That being said, losing to a 10 second run off is a new one.

The TD call was fine, it was the OPI earlier that cost the Lions the game.
