Week 9 TNF: Buffalo Bills (5-2) at New York Jets (3-5)

Ahh, the annual Bills/Jets TNF game. Last year we ended up with a pretty wild game if not a badly played game. This year we’re a bit deeper in to the season.

Jets have dropped 3 straight since opening at 3-2, but they’ve been at least competitive. I think Jets fans would be happy with this season so far. The future seems iffy, but at least the team isn’t embarrassing.

On the other hand, Buffalo is experiencing an unexpected 5-2 start. With the trade for Kelvin Benjamin, it looks like the Bills have their eyes set on the playoffs; realistic with the AFC being down.

Obviously, this is a game we have to win. I don’t expect Benjamin to play the majority of snaps, but we don’t need him to. We can literally bring him in near the red zone. I can’t think of a single player with the size (height and weight) of Benjamin... he’s a lot more like these insanely athletic TE’s who’ve been coming in to the league. Slides Zay Jones and the rest of the WR group in to their more natural order on the depth chart. Gives Tyrod a weapon he’s never had before. I got to believe Tyrod is freaking out thinking of the possibilities.

Lots of work to do. 6-2 before the weekend starts would be incredible. These AFC East games are wild, and we won the first one. Worries me for the rematch. Get it done boys!

Buffalo 31, New York 30

Re: Week 9 TNF: Buffalo Bills (5-2) at New York Jets (3-5)

This is a game that worries me because the Jets have proven to be one of the more pesky 3-5 teams i've seen in some time. They don't seem to give up and are in almost every game they play. The Bills defense is playing great ball but they need to start getting some pressure on the QB again like they did early in the year. Offensively, I have to think the Bills are going to give the Jets a heavy dose of Shady and Tyrod can get some throws downfield possibly. I like that Zay Jones got some catches on Sunday and I expect him to get a few more targets/catches tomorrow night. Benjamin won't play much but he'll be in packages in the red zone. I could imagine some fade routes or just throwing to a certain location and he jumps for it.

As usual with these division games it's going to be tight especially since the Bills have a bad habit of starting off real slow on offense. I see this as being 27-24 Buffalo.

OT: I'm glad to see Micah Hyde balling out for you guys. Just heard that he was named AFC Defensive Player of the Month. Didn't know he was among the league leaders in INTs this year either.

Loosing this game would be such a Billsy thing to do. 6-2 would be incredible. Too bad the pessimistic side of me thanks to the last 17 years is telling me different.

Oof! That was some sloppy and bad football by the Bills in the 1st half. They're lucky they're only down by 3. Tough break for the Bills with typical "Bills luck" in regards to Zay Jones. It looks like his leg got stuck in the turf as he hyper-extended his knee. Hopefully he won't be out too long as he was starting to become a nice piece in the offense.

Here's hoping the Bills can get things together and win ugly.

I haven't paid that much attention to the Jets, but Todd Bowles must be having a heck of a season. The Jets were supposed to be one of the dregs of the league, but they've held their own for the most part.

Congrats to the Jets for their gameplanning and execution. They took the Bills to the woodshed in every conceivable way.

Now, we'll see just how good of a coach McDermott is. If we see similar results next game than this is the "same ol' Bills" but if they show some fight even in a losing effort i'll be more accepting of their fate.
