re: XFL Discussion

lol ya, if anything, the XFL wants to catch the attention of the fans who have tuned out of the NFL because of things happening outside of the game. They're gonna have a rule where everyone has to stand for the anthem, and don't want guys with criminal records in the league. That alone tells you alot about the players they want, and the fans they want to attract.

Kind of ironic to see Vince McMahon in that role given that in wrestling, it's the other companies who are doing what they can to draw in the fans who McMahon and WWE have driven away.

re: XFL Discussion

So far, Oakland has said they're not interested in an XFL team because it'd conflict with A's playing (since they'd be using same stadium).

Of all the cities, which ones do people actually see as realistic options for a team?

I imagine they'll avoid AAF cities. I think they'll definitely have teams in Texas, California, and New York. Omaha would probably be a nice destination. The Nighthawks had decent attendance in the UFL and that league was a disaster.

re: XFL Discussion

I only read through a few pages of this thread, but noticed an almost hatred for the XFL, which I don't understand. If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it. But why is it such a bother that Vince McMahon wants to try something different? It's like everyone thinks the XFL is trying to be everything the NFL is supposed to be and it's going to fail miserably at it. I'm not saying it won't, I'm just saying maybe let it all play out without crying about it? I have no problems with seeing direct competition for the NFL from the XFL.

No, I don't think the XFL will be better than the NFL, but I'm willing to see them try to be.
