Who knows?
They just have to much talent to not be a playoff contender. They went 5-3 with decent coaching and had a good shot at 6-2.

They still have somewhere 70 mil in cap space, another year of experience for all the young guys and so far a better coaching staff than last year.

The North is also looking to be the weakest division in football with the ravens looking like the only tough playoff contender.

Mike Munchak leaving Steelers to take Broncos' OL job

Has family in Denver, is how people are explaining the lateral move.

Yeah Monken wasn't going to be calling plays in GB and LaFleur will find a quality OC guy I'm sure but I still wanted Monken.

I dunno if the Browns are going to be good next year I think they will but that is some staff. That's a really good start.

My questioning of the LaFleur hire in Green Bay goes up several notches with the news that the new Offensive Coordinator is.........

Nathanial Hackett

Oh lordy, this could either work out pretty well or it could get ugly real fast.

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

The same exact critiques people are throwing at LaFleur are the same critiques they said about McCarthy when we hired him.

Even down to the “He’ll never be able to get Favre under control. He’s gonna walk right over McCarthy because he has no credibility either” lines and we seen how that worked out for all parties involved.

Hackett isn’t calling plays, BTW.

At least McCarthy had a year of experience with Favre in his past when he was hired. So there are subtle differences. I realize that Hackett isn't calling plays but I don't like the idea of him being in the room there.

We'll see how it goes.

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

When McCarthy was the OC in San Fran when we hired him, they had one of the worst Offenses in the league prior to coming to GB. But because he worked with some notable names, that was enough for him to get the HC job(This is in regards to LaFleur because I’ve haven’t really posted my thoughts on the hiring)

I look at it like this: If someone is an OC but isn’t calling plays, how exactly do you judge him from the outside?
