Yes I did. The whole thing. I'm not going to get in a pointless argument over whether long snappers are necessary or important or not. I was merely making an observation.

I'm just saying that it's surprising they can't find one of 52 other players capable of long snapping. It's not a matter of long snapping being important, it's a matter of is it so specialized and unique a skill that you have to have one person dedicated to doing only that, not even being a backup at any other position? And while I'm comparing Madden I'll also note that Madden, a game that considers "LT" and "RT" and "LOLB" and "ROLB" completely different positions, doesn't yet have a "LS" position.
I've actually wondered about this too. Why don't other players that could contribute in other ways to the team learn how to long snap?

Long snapping is not learned over night. It is a skill where 100% accuracy is crucial and hundredths of a second matter.

Additionally, do you want your long snapper injured paying tight end, leaving you without a capable snapper for a crucial FG attempt?
