Ben looked solid, Freiermuth with two TDs, hell of a catch and run by Najee.

1st rounder Greg Rousseau: a sack and two QB hits
2nd rounder Basham: 5 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack. This guy was a consistent TFL monster in college, seeing it in the pro’s now too
Last year’s top pick (2nd round) Epenesa had some good pressure plays on 3rd or 4th downs as well

Preseason, but going in to a game wanting to see something out of a guy or unit and it going perfectly is a nice feeling. Adding even a modest amount of spark plays from these newcomer pass rushers can elevate our defense even further.

Yeah with us running back 21 starters we were always going to need internal improvement to make a leap. If our young DEs can give us some juice it will make a huge difference.

It’s painfully evident that it doesn’t matter if the QB is Trubisky, Foles, Dalton, Fields, or Mahomes or Rodgers as long as Nagy is the coach. It feels like they’re constantly in 3rd and long and then the pre snap penalties start piling up. The only difference when Fields is on the field is so far he’s shown he’s athletically gifted enough to sometimes overcome the bad positions Nagy puts him in

Cam Newton 'missed a day' of COVID testing (he got tested outside of an NFL facility) and has to go through the 5-day re-entry procedure for individuals who aren't fully vaccinated. Effectively sidelining him for 5 days, he returns Thursday.

Man's willingness to embrace the irrational is arguably the greatest force in human history outside of geography.

Seriously...talk about a ridiculous, draconian set of rules.
