Yup. I was heavily invested in this Ertz saga because there was big rumors about him going to Buffalo in a classic Eagles/Bills trade. We love that ****. But Dawson Knox has basically switched roles with Ertz in terms of production, and so a major trade partner went bye bye for the Eagles. If Knox continued to play below expectations, Bills probably would’ve pulled the trigger on a pretty substantial offer considering our status as a SB contender and the window being so small. Wouldn’t surprise me if BUF was the team Roseman was playing chicken with.

Well ****, we might have been able to use him if Knox’s hand injury is bad, and I imagine it is enough to keep him out multiple weeks. Bummer!

Texans cut Whitney Mercilus.

Hasn’t been as good as his banner 2015 season, but looks like he’s been more productive this year than of late. Any team looking for rush LB help could use him, it would appear.

A possible Watson trade is a hot topic of conversation today.

A long time reporter in Houston tweeted that a deal to send Watson to Miami was basically done.
Another Houston reporter clarified that it would be a 3 team trade where Miami would send Tua to WFT.

AFAIK, every credible reporter outside of Houston who has spoke on this has said its bunk. They are using strong language in doing so. One guy who has a source in WFT described it as bs.

On Pat's show Rappaport said that there are teams interested, but the situation is so complex that he doubts anything gets done before the trade deadline.

A popular opinion is that Houston likely leaked this fictional trade.

I can't wrap my head around why though. It would be one thing if they said something vague like "oh we are almost finished on a deal, can't give you details but stay tuned."
That could put pressure on other teams who are interested but reluctant to match Houston's asking price.

But by leaking a 3 team trade including WFT, its too easy for WFT to expose that as BS. So not only does Houston not gain leverage, but they lose some imo because now teams know that you have to create fictional trades to gain leverage.

If Houston leaked this it just seems stupid to me.
(and if its an actual trade and not bs its still dumb to leak because now you create an opportunity for push back from Miami stakeholders that could jeopardize the trade)

Will always be a Flacco fan and hope he does well.

But I don't see him winning too many games for the Jets. He's one of the better backups in the NFL and would be a great "hold it down and keep the ship from sinking" kind of guy but er...the Jets are already sinking. He is not a turn around our fortunes kind of guy

Yeah I don’t quite get burning a valuable, high 5th/6th to lose 2-3 games with a vet instead of losing 2-3 games while letting White get some PT and maybe just maybe he’ll catch some team off guard with the lack of pro film on him.

I’ve come to understand that the QB2 isn’t always the second best QB on the roster (or not on it), but doesn’t seem worth trading picks away in a season where you’re not winning anything anyway. Is White that unfit to play? And it’s a new coaching staff so Flacco returning to NYJ (where he only spent a season anyway) isn’t the same as going back to a place you’ve been for any amount of time.

Eagles turned a 6th in to a possible high 5th and upgraded their backup QB (Minshew over Flacco) in the span of 2 months. Roseman, you dog you!
