Scott had been a thorn in the Flyers side for years, so I'm glad to see he's heading out West. He made it no secret that he wanted to play with his brother, and Anaheim capitalized on it. Great deal.

Good deal for the Ducks - who are building a solid team right now - Brian Burke should do well for this team like he did with the Canucks

i heard a rumor that the Ducks are also trying to sign Douglas C. Neidermeyer to be their Sergeant at Arms

"A pledge pin on your uniform, Neidermayer?"

Re: The Mighty Niedermayer's of Anaheim?!

I read this in an article:

This news is devastating for Devils boss Lou Lamoriello who offered the maximum, $7.8 million per year for five years, to keep Niedermayer in his New Jersey family.

                    ---

That's awesome that he turned down max money. He's in the minority of athletes who have done that.

Re: The Mighty Niedermayer's of Anaheim?!

I don't think any player in the NHL deserves max money. IMO Forsberg is the best player in the league and he signed for less than 6 mil per season. Iginla is the 2nd best player in the league and he signed for 7 mil.

During Burke's tenure with the Nucks he couldn't sign one big FA and now he signed Niedermayer... ARGHHH

This signing hurts. Scott said he wanted to play in Vancouver. I have no idea why Nonis wasn't trying to shop around Jovo who's going to become an UFA after next season. I know he wasn't shopped around because his agent was just on the radio saying the Nucks told him after they took care of Naslund they were interested in talking about an extension.

Looks like Nonis is too busy eating donuts to improve the club. I'm a frustrated fan right now.

Re: The Mighty Niedermayer's of Anaheim?!

Very good signing by the Ducks. With Ozolinsh and Nieds, they have 2 dmen who can really push the pace which Burke is molding his team in to.

Asian, I wouldn't fault Nonis for this. If Nieds turned down a 5 year max offer from the Devils, there's not much else he could have done.

His agent said he would have took less money for certain teams. Scott came out on the radio and said he wanted to play for Vancouver.

Nonis should have been inquiring about the trade value of Jovo.

Good thing he didn't sign with Vancouver...that would have been awful for the Flames...But this new CBA is excellent, it seems like every team has at least one star player.
