I suppose. Seems like a lot of big ifs to me. "You just scored at a 56-point pace and suffered a bad concussion; we're going to pay you on the assumption you're a healthy 80-point forward going forward, even though you're 5 years away from becoming a UFA."

Obviously I'm not a GM; I'm trying to get the line of thinking before criticizing the move. I'd like to think that each team's FO is more intelligent than the hardcore NHL fans... otherwise why not just hire me off the street? It would sure save a team a lot of money.

I'd be on board for JBo, apparently we're looking to move picks/prospects (the usual). Holland is always looking for a team to throw picks at anyway.
