It's almost that time of year again. Preseason USCHO.com poll released today has BC listed at #1:

Omaha opens their new arena later in October versus Air Force. They return 16 players including their top 10 scorers from last season - I'm cautiously optimistic, but they have the talent to make it back to the NCAA's.

Can't wait for the puck to drop!

UMD tipped to win the NCHC this year. It's a tough conference, so we'll see. But I think we're going to be a very good team this year.

#1 BC trails New Brunswick 5-2 right now... I'm sure they're probably playing their lower-end players a lot since it's an exhibition, but still.

I don't even think the Gophers play a random Canadian school exhibition game this year. Just jumping right in against Vermont for one game next week, and then an early test, home and home with UMD.

The real season starts today. I'll be streaming the red mavs versus the purple mavs tonight. Anybody making it out to any games this weekend?

The power is out at the DECC, so there might not even be a game to go to here tonight.

EDIT: Yep, game cancelled. In weird fashion, Minnesota Power announced the cancellation before the UMD AD could get the press release out.
