Hell of a game to start the season.

Just got back from the Jets/Canes game. Jets were pretty terrible through 2.5 periods. The faceoff % through 2 periods was 65-35 Canes. Skinner had a nice goal when he got left all alone in the slot. Laine had a rocket from the point for his first goal, that was cool to see in person. I was also really impressed with Brandon Tanev, he should be a good depth guy for the long term.

After 2 days, I'm convinced Staal-Holden is the worst d-pairing in the league.

The Wild seemed so disjointed and sloppy most of the game, and they got completely outworked on loose pucks and board play. So it was really weird that they were burying a couple of the 3 or 4 breakaways they missed on from winning. I expect a much better showing for the home opener against the Jets tomorrow. Especially on the PP. The Blues are a top penalty-killing team, so we'll see how it looks going forward. But there was pretty much nothing on the PP that looked good last night.
