I'll never believe leagues and scheduling decisions. Nhl blames Olympics or world cup as reason why they have so many back to backs, but in a year with nothing like that, we still have questionable back to backs. Similarly with NBA. Season starts earlier, but the amount of back to backs less doesn't line up with amount of time added to season.

Loving the new facoff rules. Draws are actually clean now and don't look like an outtake from Brokeback Mountain.

Also love the slashing standard.
My only complaint is that in various games last night I saw refs swallow their whistles in the third period. Not for all the calls, but too many for my liking considering it's only Day 2.

Overall, looks to be a fun season ahead of us - IF if the standards are kept.
Goalie equipment still needs to be shrunk bigtime though.
