Sorry, but Chris Stewart will be derailing his Hart Trophy campaign. On pace for 109 goals.

Forget Stewart. It's all about the young stars, not some 30 year old guy. Sonny Milano is on pace for 109 goals at age 21 and Ryan Hartman is projected for 131pts.

Seriously though, it's only 4 games, but these are the projections we need to see(minus goal one which is obviously unrealistically high). Top point getter in the league projected for 130 points. Goal scorers getting over 50. A SV% around .900 is currently considered around the middle mark. In video game terms....keep those sliders the same!

As for the slashing stuff, I saw a stat on TSN that they mentioned after 50 games in the league this year, there's like 120 or so slashing calls compared to 20 or so last year at the same time. The amount of powerplays teams have hasn't increased a huge amount though. The thinking behind it is that since guys can't get away with slashing as much, we don't see the tripping or hooking type calls that would normally happen afterwards because of a slash that was let go. Stats kind of show you the impact on slashing too. The leading slashing teams include Leafs,Hawks,Pens among others. Look at their teams and how they're built and you know what those players try going after. Leafs are league leaders with 9 slashing calls this year. League leader last year...Blues with 37. Lowest was Canes at 13!

So that does seem like a great change so far. Biggest debate though seems to be what everyone is saying. Will the refs actually continue to enforce these rules throughout the season/playoffs, or will they just ease up and/or players start complaining and forcing league to ease up.

I think Abdelkader got his extension after being on pace for 246 goals

Starting to look like Vegas might not go 82-0

Why does Travis Green refuse to use Troy Stecher on the left point of the power play ? (with a right hand shot)

At my third ever NHL game. Second in Pittsburgh. Let’s go Pens!

Blues started out 4-0, but have now dropped their last two.
