Re: The Official 2018-19 Season Talk Thread

Last game fans threw their hats on the ice thinking Tavares had the tip in for a hat trick, but marner was the one who scored.

This game marner had 2 goals, scores an empty netter for a hat trick! Fans throw hats on ice. Just one problem, a few minutes earlier the scorers changed his first goal so he didn't actually get a hat trick.

Maybe next time....

Best part of the game, Bob Cole called it! Can't remember last time I heard him calling a leafs game. Sucks it's his final season. At least he'll call 2 more leafs games before season is over.

I've never played hockey and doubt I can even stand on a pair of skates, but I have no idea why when there's only 3 v 3 on the ice as a supreme puck handler you would want to try to handle the puck around even 1 other player on the opposing team. Yes, I'm talking about you, Claude Giroux.

Well...at least he took ownership. Still.

Interesting strategy from the NHL. No USA or Canada playing in the World Juniors tonight, and 29 teams in the NHL get the night off. The star matchup Golden Knights-Coyotes

Re: The Official 2018-19 Season Talk Thread

I'm curious to see who the NHL/NBC awkwardly shoehorns into the Dallas and Colorado outdoor games. If the NHL sticks to their word (haha) and doesn't recycle the Hawks, Penguins, or Bruins, then what makes sense? Stars/Wings would've worked 10 or 20 years ago, but would be incredibly limp now. The Caps or Sabres for Dallas? I have no earthly idea who Colorado will be hosting. Nashville or Minnesota don't sound like opponents that NBC would sign off on.

For Colorado, if it's not the Wild (my first choice), maybe Las Vegas?

Re: The Official 2018-19 Season Talk Thread

I'd say Sharks or Wild VS Avs. And Blues VS Stars.

A stars VS wild matchup would be nice, but would be a weird setup for an alumni game.

They really should be having bigger teams playing though. Preds, Lightning and so on. Sabres and Leafs as well if nbc wants to push the US stars like Matthews and Eichel, especially if NHL is going to the Olympics in 2022.

Being in position to draft one of Hughes, Kakko, Dach or Cozens while also being in a playoff spot is nice.
