I’m on board. He’s great to watch. He reminds me a lot of a quicker Mahrez in how he plays, and of a left footed Neymar in terms of his body shape.

Looks like there are advanced talks on bringing in Ibrahima Koyate from Leipzig in the summer.

^Looking at reinforcements already doesn't bode well for Kabak does it? I would be surprised if we make his loan move permanent. He's done okay alongside Phillips but he scares me to death in one on one situations.

Phillips is out of contract at the end of this season. I would imagine he’ll want to cash in on getting minutes with a contract where he’ll actually start. He has filled in well, but there is not a place for him going forward.

I would imagine that this signing would mean the option to buy Kabak won’t be picked up. But maybe they’ll be convinced that 5 CBs are needed going into next season.

The main thing In worried about is that Koyate has already been injury prone in his young career. So if we go with him and VVD/Gomez/Matip, you have 3 coming back from long term injuries and 3 who have had a history of injuries (all but VVD).

I think Kabak has been good and we would be stupid not to take him for £18m.

Philips and Matip most likely won’t be here next season. The defense being composed of Van Dijk, Gomez, Kabak and Konate with Koumetio getting the cup minutes that Philips/Williams should have had this season is a great group.

Honestly shipping out a 24 year old who has only broken into the first team due to injuries and is still an extremely limited player as well as a good experienced but injury prone defender to replace them with a 20 year old who shows huge potential and a 21 year old considered one of the best young defenders in the world would be great business.

I think Matip will still be around. I wouldn’t want to sell just to sell, and he’s not going to be commanding a very good fee with his injury issues. I think he’ll play out his contract with us which is through 2024.

If they can figure out a way to make all of them happy, I’d be OK with having 5 senior CBs. Sure beats having 3 then ending up where we’re at now. You take a registered body from another area doing that though.
