Watching Willan is troubling indeed... I figured still get a few more good seasons out of him. That or the continued reunion with Mo is getting to him.

Uuuggggggghhhhhhhhh. Only solace we can take here is that it’s Duncan Castles, but for some reason the only things he has gotten right about Chelsea were all internal stuff so still possibly worrying.

Maybe that’s why Carlo was at the game.

I don’t get Chelsea and it’s players. Mourinho and Conte bring a title and then get fired?

Clearly, the problem is not the manager.

To be fair, Jose is a bit of a different situation. We were in the relegation zone, and on relegation form and he wasn’t changing anything. There are way worse examples to choose from, like Carlo.

Also, as annoying as it is, hiring and firing has clearly worked for us so far.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

He was way better than Morata today too.

Hopefully today was the spark we needed, but honestly some of our play is worrisome.

That being said, it’s probably safe to say that like 95% of our issues this season are simply due to the Kante-sized hole in our midfield.

When your midfield isn’t fully functional, it’s hard for the rest of your team to be.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

Good win but Wily really deserved that clean sheet.

That game just sums up why I don't like Everton, and actually I think Tom Davies is a human microcosm of "Everton vs a big team". He is a quality player capable of performing quite well, but vs big teams he just completely loses his head and spends the entire game running around fouling people and getting away with it.

Everton's team in general gets away with a pretty substantial amount of dirty play, probably because they still have that "good guy Everton" image. The reality is they've had some of the dirtiest players in the league for years, and it drives me nuts whenever we play them because I know I'm in for watching 90 minutes of my team getting fouled while praying nobody injures Hazard.

Anyway, onward and upward.

Re: ***The Official Chelsea FC Thread***

Agreed Brahv. There was a 20 minute interval where between Davies and Williams they were running around hacking our guys down and/or elbowing them in the head on every ball in the air. It took the crowd reaction for Swarbrick to finally book Davies.

Very sexy 2nd goal on the 2 man game by Willian and Cesc. Cesc was pretty terrible before that interchange too. Also surprised to see Drinkwater out there but what better competition to get some live action minutes than the worthless League Cup.

No injuries, needed rest for some key guys and valuable minutes/confidence boosts for youngsters and Willian.

Also, Zappa can run for days.
