Rangers FC Imploding (how close I wonder to collapse)

The past couple weeks have seen my favorite Scottish club make headlines...just not for football (the football has been dreadful anyways).

It all started with manager (and club legend) Ally McCoist announcing that he would resign at the end of the season, and the board decided to put him out on gardening leave and installed assistant manager Kenny McDowall as caretaker manager for the remainder of the season.

There has been lots of issues brewing between the board of directors and the supporters the past two seasons. The top blew this past weekend after a match between Hearts and Rangers was abandoned after 25 minutes due to snow and sub zero temps.

It's telling when the manager of Celtic is at the game in the director's box and is probably the most popular man in that box.

What has effectively united what had been a fractured Rangers support? The prospect of Mike Ashley (owner of Newcastle United) gaining security over Ibrox Stadium.

After the fiasco that was this weekend, caretaker manager Kenny McDowall tendered his resignation after just one month on the job.

It's amazing they can't get their **** together (again). That club should practically run itself successfully. Hearts are completely running that league (0 in the loss column so far), and it's great.

I can't believe they turned down Robert Sarver's take over offer TWICE.

I see that they're finally playing Celtic again this weekend. I'm sure the Celtic supporters will be very respectful in their songs and chants.

I predict many yellow cards.

Wow. Just looked up this is going to be live on FS1. That's awesome.

The return of the Old Firm....it's been too long.

Stranger things have happened in football...but I'm kinda tired of living vicariously through my FM Rangers side.

They really need to get back to the top flight. I don't see Hearts collapsing as much as they need to (though they did finally lose). They have a young, hungry team that grew up a whole lot last season playing in a hopeless campaign. So Rangers are probably going to have to deal with 2 playoff legs against Hibs, who have been playing very well recently. That will be make or break time. I don't think either team will have much trouble with 11th place in the Premiership.
