I’d like to buy Toby Alderweireld a drink! 🍻

100% do not feel bad for Cardiff or Warnock for several reasons.

1- Warnock is their manager

2- They have had games like this in their favor this season already, and Warnock stopped just short of cackling about it in his post match interviews

3 (and most important)- I really think VAR wouldn’t have changed the result. Of course VAR prevents those obvious errors from happening, but VAR also gives Chelsea a penalty in the first 15 minutes of the game vs one of the worst teams in the league. Not only that, Cardiff’s record vs the big 6 at home this season is awful specifically because they concede early and then try to chase the game and concede more in the process.

I just have very big doubts that this Cardiff team is battling back from being 0-1 down that early in the game when results this season have already shown they don’t.

Amazing alternate angle of Liverpool's winner from yesterday

only fitting that Sissoko is lurking in the back considering his miss on that 2v1 counter could have iced it. Great defense on that counter by VVD too.

How he processes everything that he needs to do there and executes it while running back at full speed is pretty amazing. Sissoko still should have scored though. Or at least not put it into orbit.

Alderweireld actually had a similar play, but Salah made it so much easier on him by dribbling towards Mane instead of out wider to the right. A lot of good defending on display between him and VVD yesterday. Liverpool just isn't nearly as lethal on the break as they were last year. All of the front 3 are really screwing them up - it's getting a bit old.
