2020-2021 English Football Thread

Welcome back Fulham, West Brom, and for the first time in a long time Leeds!

See you later Watford, Norwich, and Bournemouth.

Fixtures start in a month, so might as well get this going!

All I will predict right now is the title will be a much closer affair. No way we see the champion decided with 7 matches left.

That is what I hope, I don't really have much of a horse in the race but I would like an entertaining title affair, rather than bore that was this year.

I'd be shocked if anyone other than Liverpool won it again. They seemed to be head and shoulders above everyone else for most of the season. I hope I'm wrong because the season was pretty dull.

Tbf, it was pretty random that City didn't put up a bigger fight, so I wouldn't necessarily put them head and shoulders above City normally.

Think Liverpool could win it again, but I'd expect it to be much closer this time.

Re: 2020-2021 English Football Thread

Imo the main reason City fell so far away this year was that Aymeric Laporte only played 15 games. Fernandinho was played out of his favored position to play alongside him. This proved to show how little or no confidence he had in Otamendi and Stones. Stones even fell further down the pecking order with the emergence of Garcia. I fully expect them to spend big on a right footed CB and a new LB. Mendy and Zinchenko are not likely long term starters either.

Bernardo Silva had a subpar season by his standards. He was in the team of the season the year before if I recall. I expect him to have a bounceback year. Plus more Phil Foden with David Silva going.

It’s official—my anti-support of Fulham recommences.
