NASCAR 06 OR 07?

I don't think I'm alone in my disappointment of NASCAR 08. But, I may be one of the few that actually enjoyed the "Total Team Control" aspect of the past 2 titles. So, I think I'm going to take back 08 and pick up either 06 or 07 again. From those 2 games, which one would you guys recommend? I liked the "Hero/Villian" aspect of career mode.. was that in both games?

I also liked the variable driver attributes in 07 though...darn Why couldn't EA stack NASCAR 08 like that?

I'm also playing on the PS3, so I'd be using the backwards compatibility. I read that 07's PS2 graphics didn't hold up... is that an advantage that 06 would have?

I can't tell you what you should do, but since I am also taking the Nascar 08 PS3 back, I guess I should share what I would do. First, I am thinking of getting the PS2 version of Nascar 08, but I am waiting for reviews before I plunge my money yet again. 2nd, if Nascar 08 for PS2 sucks, then I guess it is a toss up between F1 Championship Edition and Motorstorm.

Oh, I also got the Nascar 07 and played it on my PS2 and I would take that game over Nascar 08 next gen. The graphics sucks on HD but at least there is a career mode. I am reluctant on the 08 version of Nascar for PS2 because I have not heard anything about owning your own team.

I haven't read any reviews, but I know that career mode is a bit different, just not sure how. I know that some of the featues that I liek (car swapping) are gone though.

Are you using your PS2 in HD? Because playing PS2 games on the PS3 in HD looks great.

Oh, and between 06 an d07, which is better graphically?

Let me rephrase that, I played Nascar 07 on PS3, not PS2. In terms of graphics, well, just don't expect too much. And if I don't know any better the 08 version of Nascar would probably offer a slight difference in graphics. But I would take the 07 version of Nascar PS2 over the next gen version. Unfortunately though I traded it away for the next gen version of Nascar.

I agree that playing PS2 on PS3 system looks great, but if you played too much next gen games and then jump to a PS2 game on PS3, it is just hard to convince myself that it is beautiful. Well, the PS2 graphics now on PS3 is a lot better compared before the PS3 firmware upgrade.

People at gamefaqs are saying that team ownership is out for the PS2 version.
