Re: Nascar Racing 2003
Great site! I miss NR2003, I bought a new IMAC a few months ago to replace an aging PC. I thought since it could run windows I would still be able play NR2003. However, there is some kind of conflict with the sound card and game. The engine just screeches a horrible high pitch and is quite annoying. Anyone else have this problem and if so, is there a solution to it? Well, besides buying another computer, lol! Thanks in advance!Comment

Re: Nascar Racing 2003
Get the COT mod here:
Use the Cup physics. Superb mod by hardcore modders. You can get an entire 2007 COT car set with one click at Team SBR:
Team SBR and NNRacing are the best sites for car paint schemes, bar none:
NNRacing.com is the premier Auto Racing simulation web site dedicated to the online nascar simulation community. With files and help for all of the Papyrus NASCAR Racing Simulations, you cannot go wrong with this site.
The Johnson spotter pack is another MUST have. This dude grabbed TONS of audio bits from Chad Knaus and Jimmie Johnson's spotter to Johnson, and it replaces the existing spotter. It's UNBELIEVABLY immersive, even if you don't like Johnson:
Don't overlook the Whelen Mod and Saturday Night Stock Car mods. A really nice change of pace from the NASCAR ladder of Cup/COT, Busch and Trucks. The Aero88, Grand National 1970 and Cup90 mods are fantastic, too, if you're into old-school NASCAR.
At last count, I have eight mods and the Cup class that comes with the game, at least 130 tracks and more than 1,200 paint schemes among those classes. Yeah, it's a sickness -- I know.
One word of advice: Take your lumps and drive with all assists off. The only assist I use is auto clutch since my wheel doesn't have a clutch pedal. It's SO much more satisfying to run well when you're doing it without assists. Take your time to learn the tracks and cars, and the "feel" will come to you.
Enjoy. Nothing tops NR 2003 if you're into stock car sims. Nothing is even close.
Take care,

How new is the computer? You could possibly try updating your sound card, or you might be able to adjust your sound settings in game.Comment

Possible solutions in these threads, man. Could be a hardware acceleration problem, which is a simple fix. Good luck:Great site! Re: Nascar Racing 2003
I just got the computer about 4 months ago. Its a new Intel IMAC that can run both OSX and reboot into a windows environment so you can run all the windows based software.
I tried messing around with the sound settings in game and I believe I have the current set of drivers since Apple updated their Bootcamp software. Its a SigmaTel audio card, only bad thing about the Mac is that you cant upgrade anything inside the computer. So I cant swap out the audio card which sucks. NR2003 is the only game I cant play from my old windows games, and its the only one I wanna play lol! Oh well, live and learn I guess.
Thanks for the advice I will try messing around with the hardware acceleration but I think I tried that once before.Comment
