-why not release setups 6 months in (never saw great user created ones)?
-damage was ridiculous last year, any adjustments for 09?
-why are there no manufacture specific grills? -

After watching the video, the AI has been addressedand there is a "damage setting" which can only be better than 08.

Looks like they have a ton of options so for the first time in a long while I am kind of looking forward to this. Drops around the same time as GRID but if NASCAR allows players to make it more sim then I'll go with it over GRID.
Also really dig the idea of the paint shop. They said it would be the same for 360/PS3 so I am assuming you upload your paint from your PC to the EA website and then it gives it to you in the game. I hope they allow it online like Forza 2 but maybe some issues? I can only imagine what kind of filth they would have to filter. Just look at Forza 2 - it takes hours of working with basic shapes yet the AH is still filled with porn. Imagine if it was as easy as cut and paste.
Speaking of online - did they address how many players the game will support and any more about those features/options? Madden is getting leagues this year - I wish that was the case for NASCAR as wellComment

Someone needs to make a hand-held racing controller similar to the ones for radio-controlled cars. I just don't have the room for a dedicated wheel setup but love racing sims from the PC days...Nascar Heat was my favorite.Comment

Re: NASCAR 09 Video: Part 2 of 2 @ EA Vancouver
I used to own a PC controller many years ago when I drove GPL and my PC inhabited a small cabinet in an even smaller apt. It was similar to an RC controller only shaped more like a gun. Had a nice rubberized wheel on top and triggers for brake / gas. The precision handling of a wheel with the practicality of a controller - I loved it.
Maybe I should break apart some 360 controller and take a stab at making my own mod. Might just catch on.Comment

The PaintShop feature is pretty damn cool. I've been messing around with it for the last week or so. I'm not confident EA will get the racing physics done properly (AGAIN), but being able to create and upload your own car is a thing of beauty.
Here are three I've made so far (they're not quite done).

Photoshop, then exporting it as a .DDS file and importing to AC3D (which makes it 3D like you see above).
There are instructions in the forums at www.easportsracing.com. Let me know if you can't find them and I'll help out.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

If it allows importing .psd files I don't see why you couldn't. You'd also need to make sure it allows saving as .dds files (I had to download the plug-in for Photoshop to allow this).Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment
