I'd be willing to maintain it if there was in fact interest (though given my odd schedule this semester I'm not sure how much I'll actually be able to participate in said ladder, but I'll maintain it nevertheless). Format can be debated if there's enough interest.

OS Forza Ladder: Any Interest?
There seems to be a good amount of interest here for Forza 3... would people be interested in playing in an OS Forza ladder?

I've got no idea what is involved in a forza ladder, thus I would like to be explained if possible. There seems to be a good amount of interest here for Forza 3... would people be interested in playing in an OS Forza ladder?

Other than that I would assume it's some form of OS forza competition and would be interested.Lux y Veritas -
Re: OS Forza Ladder: Any Interest?
A ladder is just a dynamic ranking system of the players in it. Players' respective positions on the ladder change based on online match results, which must be reported back to the ladder manager by one of the players participating in a given match.
For example, the Madden 10 ladder at GameBattles: http://gamebattles.com/xbox360/madde...adder/singles/
Compared to this, I was thinking that the OS ladder could take a more casual approach: you race against other OSers on the ladder whenever you want, with whatever settings the group racing decides to race with (though I suppose having dual ladders, one with no assists allowed and one with some assists allowed, might be useful). Someone in the race reports the race results back to me (via a ladder thread I would set up if this takes off) at the conclusion of each race, and I score the race based on the race results (more points for first than second, more for second than third, and so forth). There wouldn't be a limit on number of races in a day, minimum races per week, or anything like that (though I suppose if someone just sits at the top of the ladder and then stops playing for like a month I'd eventually remove him from the ladder).
Differentiating from a normal ladder, to keep any one player from running away with the ladder I'd only keep track of, say, the previous ten races any user has run (vs. keeping track of all races run). The tradeoff here is that new players that join the ladder later than the launch date of Forza would be able to realistically compete on the ladder immediately, and that one wouldn't have to constantly race to maintain ladder positioning. Basically this is accounting for the fact that we all have lives to tend to outside of video games. This could change to a more traditional scoring system, which would be more reflective of a player's total career on the ladder, if so desired; just an idea I had.

I would be interested, though it doesn't seem anybody else is besides yourself.Last edited by sportsdude; 10-21-2009, 02:07 PM.Lux y VeritasComment

Re: OS Forza Ladder: Any Interest?
If we have to meet up for races every week this ladder wouldn't work for me. However, I have a format that I think might be kind of fun.
- Season Length: 8 Weeks
- Each week there will be two challenges to complete. At the end of the week we'd take the best times and award points.
(point values can be adjusted)
1st place = 10 pts
2nd place =7 pts
3rd place =4 pts
4th place = 2 pts
5th place = 1 pt
At the end of the eight weeks we'd crown our champions, reset the scores, and start the next season. I think this would be cool because it wouldn't require a lot of time. You'd only have to do the challenges as much as you felt like it. It would also cut the hassle of trying to meet up with opponents online.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 10-30-2009, 05:31 AM.Comment

Re: OS Forza Ladder: Any Interest?
I like P-Knucks idea. So basically its a Hot Lap ladder? We dont actually race against each other at the same time, correct?Return of the MackComment

Yup. I think it would be fun for those of us who don't have time to meet up for races each week. There could also be a regular one going on at the same time for those who want to race against each other too.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 10-30-2009, 12:34 PM.Comment
