Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

This is the most broken title I have ever purchased in 15 years. No exaggeration. Stings paying $60 to be their beta tester and actually it feels more alpha at times. I really don't know how they could stoop so low and release this. They promise patches and fixes and say they understand. How about not releasing it in the first place until it's fixed? Terrible business practice.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

Only spent about 10 min. looking it over. Raced a few laps at Daytona.
#1 The cautions need to be fixed, pretty bad.
#2 No rear mirror? Big part of racing, that silly proxy gaphic is dumb, give me a spotter and a mirror.
#3 Did anyone find it near impossible to make several adjustments going down pit road, tire pressures, wedge, tape? Not impressed.
#4 Would like to see them use the tire display that was used on Dirt 2 Daytona.
#5 Actually thought the feel was good enough, liked all the options on the controls.
#6 Will there be any random stuff like, debris on the grill? Clutch problems, brake issues.
#7 thought car #'s would be updated better and the look of the front end is off as well, but those are minor, minor, minor issues for me.

All in all it had a good feel but the game won't work for me if I don't get a chance to adjust my car during pit stops. (maybe I'm missing something) and see my tire temps.

      Add mirror
Add the Dirt 2 Daytona graphic HUD for Tires & Car damage, fuel
Add the Dirt 2 Daytona pit road adjustment display for tire press., wedge, tape, ect.

I am so happy that EA wasn't the model they looked to. I was expecting alot. Sorry to say I'm probably gonna go back a continue playin' my ol' Dirt 2 Daytona game, yeah it doesn't have Pocono or Indy but the racing experience in the closest things I've found on the playstion platforms to PC NASCAR 1999. $60 was alot to spend for a game I can't convince myself to play, maybe I will read more on this board and give it another go....

Wow! Where is QC in the video game industry? I can live with a few bugs.........but this game is horrid. What a wasted 45 minutes, and I was looking forward to this game. No patch will help this mess. If it does, I may try it again, the yellows.... NONE...... crashes unrealistic, froze once after qualifying. UGH
but the graphics are very well done and some of the racing isn't too bad.

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions

I just don't get it?? Why can't a company take 99% of the PC NASCAR2003 game and poof!!! The best racing game ever......how can this be so hard to see. EA spent about 8-10 years running the game into the ditch, it's as if these companies keep tryin' to create something different when the winning game model already exist! Just update drivers, add a track or two, and it would be nice to have a choice in what point system to run, pre Brian France Jr or this new age gimmick chase stuff. I wonder how their meetings go before settling on their direction. This should be one of the easiest sports to create a game for, especially since it has been done already (pc's Nascar 2003), now with the ps3, they should be able to do whatever palpayrus has done......sure is a head scatcher. I'am glad some people have found some entertainment value out of it, $60 isn't a drop in the bucket for most gamers.....I just don't know if patches can fix this game, hope I'm wrong, cause I love Nascar racing games....

My only issue is, is there a technique to avoid getting spun when being bump drafted by the cpu? Should I just turn on the stability control assist?

Wow, I guess I got a different game than most of the people here because I'm really enjoying this game. I just got done with a 100 lapper at Miami and clawed my way into 8th place. The cautions for me were fine, even though there was only one to be heard of. I'm seeing enough passing for my taste, and the game is about the right difficulty for me.

I think that many people had their hopes too high on this go around. I knew there would be problems with the game; it's their first go at it. They've really hit the graphical side beautifully, and the gameplay is a lot of fun. If you go into this game hoping for a true simulation with no room for error, you're aren't going to find it fun in the least bit. If you go into it wanting a game that plays well and doesn't require that you have all sorts of licenses to play it, then you're gonna like it.

Also, I wouldn't listen too much to the people who signed up just this month. It seems every time a game drops, these people have to register right then and there to bad mouth everything about the game.

At least i learned a couple of things today.
Never to buy a game on release day again...it's just not worth the risk.
Never make my mind up based off a single user impression in a forum. Too many people have different opinions of what defines a good or fun game. This game is anything but good or fun.
                      Hate feeling ripped off, damn.

I am also really enjoying the PS3 version still very much. I will say though, have not opened the 360 version yet. This game does a lot of things very well, and there are some things that still need worked on. I also hope people were not looking for NASCAR 2003(which I love and race weekly) because they never said it wa going to be that. In fact the were very explicit that it was going to have a mixture of sim and arcade...and I think they nailed that aspect of it.

I feel bad for the 360 crowd I guess, but I can't compare yet. The majority of PS3 users are really liking the game. Even over on the official forums, the PS3 crowd seems to be really enjoying it for the most part.

It has it's issues, and hopefully they will get worked out, but racing on very hard, with no assist, is a blast to me. I feel like the driving model is done very well, and the AI for the most part is pretty smart, other then being over cautious on some tracks, when bunched together.

People act like the stupid AI on NASCAR 2003 was flawless, let me tell you, they are anything but flawless in that game, and it's PC based. Before that game was modded, the AI drove the same lines, and hardly ever crashed......it's took a bunch of great modders to form that game into what it is today, and it didnt happen in 3 months.

I respect everyones opinion, and like I said, I feel bad for the 360 crowd right now. I am not saying that people are wrong in their complaints, I just know that this PS3 version is about as much fun as I have ever had with a console version of a NASCAR game.

Bro...I can't really answer that. I have no idea what was in the 360 patch. I have heard through multiple sources that the Very-hard mode is nowhere near as difficult on the 360 as it is on the PS3.

What type of settings/difficulty are you running? I blow the AI away on hard and cant keep up on very hard...

I love this game as well... The graphics are outstanding, the damage is growing on me- you can't get CRUSHED but you do show some good amount for those who are looking to destroy their car. There are a few minor things here and there but I'm somebody who looks at the little things and this game has a lot more "little things" good than bad.. there is just some of the "big stuff" missing in this one but overall a good start and a great racing game for those of us who just like having an enjoyable racing game to kill the time

No they aren't. Both games are equally as bad and the forums there clearly illustrate that. Just stop already, you are responsible for costing hundreds if not thousands of people $60 with your lies. You have been paid by the developers to review unfairly. Admit it, you will feel better.
