Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
The differences are currently these:
You can use your custom paint scheme online on PS3. ( this will be allowed eventually on XBOX)
You can upload your race replay videos to YouTube exclusively on the PS3.
I will say the game is certainly more immersive with a wheel so if you are able to be patient and have them fix the wheel bug, XBOX is the way to go.
If you want to take your custom paint job online tonight and upload race replays to YouTube than PS3 would be your better option.
Hope that helps you make your decision.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
This is a really fun game while you are racing, but things start getting wacky when you come into pit. For now, I have turned off fuel loss, tire wear, and damage, which means I never have to pit. Not all that realistic, but it allows me to enjoy the racing... and the racing is really, really good.
Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with my purchase. I knew the game would be buggy, and considering this is the only NASCAR game that has been released for several years, I'm willing to cut the devs some slack. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody who wants to do some sort of multi-year career simulation thing, but it's nice for the casual fan who just wants to grind out a few laps for an hour or so every couple of days.
I'm waiting for a patch (es). What good is a Nascar game if you don't pit? That's half the strategy of the sport---do I come in now for tires and fuel? Do I risk it to stay out in front? Etc.
I don't want a game where I just drive. That'd get boring after awhile. I need the strategy factor to keep it interesting. If they can't get the pitstops (among other things) fixed, I'll pass altogether on this title.
NR2003 has options to shorten races, however, I can still change the pit frequency all the way to where a 10 lap race at Dega requires at least 2 pitstops......Comment

Actually, Lion's fans know this year won't be the year.. They just hope for some sort of an improvement from the last yearComment

Hmm, I guess it isn't there in single player race now. Just in career mode I guess.Moderator

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
Well, I think I am about done with this game until it gets patched up. Just ran the most absurd race at Martinsville. First of all, I somehow got 3 laps down yet I have no clue how because I was never lapped. Then I get knocked down toward pit entrance and I get the cutaway then it makes me go through the pits with a black flag for illegal entrance even though I never wanted to go into the pits. Then when I did want to pit, I was to hot entering so it just gives me the black flag and doesn't let me pit so I go back around and oops, to hot entering again. So of course it doesn't let me pit and by now I'm out of gas so my race ends. Completely ridiculous.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
It's really not bad. I hardly ever see the bugs/glitches. Just don't think it'll be perfect, especially the first entry of the series. It's a very good game. I have a review on my blog if you want a more detailed game description.Comment

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
this really isnt that bad of a game...yeah it has a few bugs w/ the cautions, damage, easy qualifying, and ai brainfarts...but if they fix it like they are supposedly doin w/ this next patch, then this could really be a good game..and ive been using a controller..i have a fanatec carrera wheel but im kinda scared to use it w/ all these peoples wheels breaking so i think imma wait til post patch to try it out...but i am enjoying the gameComment

The game can potentially be great with all the little quirks worked out! The other day I raced someone online who had designed the Dale sr. Goodwrench car, pretty sick! Unfortunately, the game graphics seem pretty poor. Is anyone else getting heavy pixalated graphics farther down the track?Comment

After playing it some more, I'd say this game is a keeper. Yes I still have my issues with cautions and damage ( and looks to be corrected by the patch), but the actual racing is sweet.. I played a 50 lapper at Indy, and couldn't get higher than 35th... I tapped Mr Gordon in Turn 4, making him get loose so I could pass, when returned the favor several laps later..

Re: NASCAR The Game 2011 Q&A and Impressions
really need help here!! I haven't Raced in a while and it happened on day 1 I got the game as well.. I'm on the 360 Version.. Every single time I hit the wall and slam into another call my controller gets disconnected and I have to press the power button on the controller to reconnect with the xbox... I figured it was my battery but I switched to new ones... If I'm not hitting anything, I am not losing connection.. This is really annoying and it is really messing me up... Anyone have this ????Comment
