    NASCAR Heat Evolution Preview

Gone are the days when NASCAR fans had multiple choices on a console to get their fix in for their favorite sport -- this much we know. Now, because of massive licensing costs and limited return on investment, NASCAR fans have had to take what they could get over the last decade, or continue to play titles that were released years ago. What they need, and to be quite honest, deserve, is a development group and publisher that possesses the same amount of passion for the sport as they do.

A sport that claims to have over 50 million fans should not have its best-selling NASCAR licensed title selling just a mere 1.2 million copies. Based off that number, you can see why previous developers and others looking for a new IP would have some reluctance to pursue and partner with such a volatile and risky license. The question we have to ask ourselves is this: Is it the sport and license, or the effort and attention to detail from developers that has caused such stagnation in the development of NASCAR titles recently?

"The game’s AI will crash independently of an interaction with the user, and will cause yellows to come out."

That's great. The rest sounds good as well.

Sounds promising. I've been critical of the game's visuals, but as long as we get a good first effort out of the gate I'll be happy.

        Sounds interesting.
I haven't played a Nascar game for a decade, but might get this game if it gets solid reviews.

The 1.2 million would have gone up drastically if -

The NASCAR games got a worldwide release as standard

And when they did get a worldwide release so did the patches DLC and updates

We haven't had a situation that has occurred since the EA 09 outing.

A disgrace that some release zones were charged full price and didn't get the same full game as the US.

Madden, NBA and NHL games all sell well around the world NASCAR would be the same

I'd love to see the option to design your own track implemented into a NASCAR title in the future

That is something we talked about early in alpha stage of development. They like the idea and could be open to it down the lines.

That would be really cool, but I think I'd like to see that happen only after the Xfinity series, and truck series make their way into the game, with their respective tracks as well. What that would do for career mode alone would be incredible.

While I wont speak for Rich(Lead Developer) I know the other series are very important to Matt, Tom and Sean(DMR Group) I'm serious as can be about these guys really having a focus on great gameplay and the inclusion of community feedback. It's pretty much their mantra at this point.

How many drivers are in the game? Just 43, or is there more? Would really like to see a few different drivers each week, and not guaranteed to qualify for each race.

As of right now there are 43 licensed drivers in the game. Not sure if they plan to include fake drivers, or plan to sign more licensed drivers in the future.

Can we create a driver to use in career mode of do we have to use one of the existing drivers?

You can create a driver from scratch, and the options are pretty nice. On top of having a large variety of editing options for your driver, they also have the option to be female.
