Is this mostly an online type of game or is the offline mode pretty robust? Also for anyone without the new HDR, how do normal graphics compare? Controller work pretty well, or would it be recommended to grab a wheel?

1) Its focus is online competitive
2) While its focus is online competitive, there is a ton of offline stuff to do and you still earn credits and XP for offline racing. In addition to the challenges and track challenges, you can setup just about any type of race you would like offline.
3) I think the controller works well, but I did just purchase a wheel because I am an a huge FFB fan and the best way to experience that is with a wheel.


I don't know how to answer your question about HDR, because once you play on that, there isn't any going back. Kinduv like the first time your watched a football game in HD and then trying to go and watch a game on SD.






Keep in mind though, this isn't your traditional GT game and the Dev has been adamant about that and that they are pushing this game into a new generation. Its not the car collecting game it used to be and you aren't trying to get certain licenses in the game like you have done in the past.

Has anyone tried to setup a race online? Man, talk about options. It took me several minutes to wrap my head around everything because there were so many things I could adjust. Awesome stuff.

The one thing I especially liked is that there was no inviting necessary to get my friend to join. As soon as I launched the room, he said he got the alert. We ended up getting destroyed by some race God who joined us, so we just battled it out for second and third. Ended up finishing the race within .120 seconds of each other. So much fun.

The only thing I wish they had was the ability to add AI to an online race - the non-existence of this option cuts pretty deep
