Nice article , I can't wait for Friday to get here. I may work a half day so I can spend some quality time with this. Heck I'm still playing the first SX game.
So far I have run a time trial 3 to 5 laps on every track. I have also run 3 single event races. At this point I am not enjoying the game at all. The bikes just feel out of control to me. Hopefully with more time it will get better.
Ok I just started a career. Doing much better on the 250 bikes. Also as I learn the tracks I am getting better as well.
Ok I approached this game completely wrong. I jumped right on the 450's thinking the handling would be the same as the last game and I struggled badly. I switched to the 250 class , created a rider and started the 250 east season. I cranked the difficulty down to medium which ended up being way to easy but now that I really know the east tracks the game has become much much better. Going to turn the difficulty up for the 250 west. Some of these tracks are tough. You get out of rhythm and you pay a big price as riders just fly by you. This game definitely has a more realistic feel to it.
Can someone please help. I cannot corner to save my LIFE. It's SO frustrating. Every corner I take is TOO wide and I end up crashing in the tuff blocks or going off track. And when I do have a quick corner, my back end kicks out and slides all over the place. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm about ready to frisbee this unplayable piece of trash.
Sorry to hear your frustrated with the game however it's not even close to an unplayable piece of trash...See fallout 76 if your looking for that..lol.
The bike out of the box is not upgraded at all and this game requires you to not only pin the throttle but to also let off of it once in a while.
Ride a few races and upgrade the bike and you will do much better and the fun factor goes way up.
Upgrade tires,shocks and exhaust they make the most difference.
Slow down to go faster...If that makes sense.
Once the cornering clicks for you it's a game changer.

Your spot on....Once the handling clicks it's amazing.
I'm finding myself actually having to think about different ways to approach the rhythm sections.
I'm stating the obvious here but Learning the tracks is key. I was having issues in the turns also but I learned you just have to slow down, the answer is that simple.
Also I've been using the Standard bike handling until I get the tracks down. I did try Advanced and I had more control of the bike allowing me to use the throttle in the turns to slide the rear end around, making cornering better, I'm not able to do this as easily using Standard, just remember Advanced is less forgiving, case a jump = crash , as you should , you can also wash out the rear end and crash if you're to quick with the throttle in certain situations.
My only real complaint so far is Milestone still doesn't seem to know how a clutch works. When I'm in the middle of a turn and I pull in my clutch and use my throttle and pop the clutch I should get a burst of power , in this game , like all other Milestone MX games, it's just not there. The MX vs ATV games have it but they over do it , Milestone under does it , they need to find the middle ground.
Oh and yeah patch the game and let us skip all that training , promotion crap. It adds nothing to the game except wasted time in my opinion.
Bought the Nintendo Switch version this year. They did a really good job with it. Reduced rider grid to 12 guys, but for me I don't mind. Sometimes 22 riders felt cramped. Everything else about this game is what I always dreamed of in a Supercross game.
Would love Milestone to do a AMA motocross game instead of MXGP this summer.
