ODU survives...

Arkansas State gave us all we could handle. It was a pure offensive duel (but.. when isn't it when playing ODU?!?!?)

We had a solid 42-20 lead at the half, but Ark State stepped it up when we fell flat in the second half. They just kept scoring, and there was nothing we could do to stop our offensive drought. Eventually, we got up 52-44 late in the 4th on a field goal from Eric Hall.

Ark State had other plans, despite having no timeouts and about 45 seconds. They march downfield, ending with a 24 yard TD strike over our both-way freshman Hassan Cunningham. So it came down to the 2 point convo to tie, and we get the sack, preserving the victory heading into the Sun Belt Title Game.

Red Wolves QB Terrence Rodriguez might have actually out-performed Jim Gardner (hasn't happened since our last loss; to EMU week 3), but Gardner still played well enough to keep his Heisman hopes alive.

#5 Utsa upended at home vs #6 Mtsu. Mtsu gained a 21 -7 lead via a ko return td and then a pick six when utsa tried to throw across the field on an out pattern. We managed to get within 6 a few times late in the game... which ended when mtsu completed a 3rd and long 1st down pass and then run out the clock. It would have been an exciting end if we got the ball back there..
Regardless.. very gg !!
