Madden definitely goes the way of NBA Live if not for the exclusive license. I don't believe EA would have completely given up, but they'd be behind 2K based on the gameplay of 360/PS3 Madden vs APF...

Sometimes I think about what any NFL/APF 2K game between 2008 and 2020 could have been, and I honestly feel robbed. There isn't a soul at Madden with the passion of the NFL/APF 2K team.

All Pro Football 2k8 "gameplay" will always be the elephant in the room. Madden developers do not have the same passion for football like visual concepts did.

I'm convinced less than 10% of Madden players are looking for a NFL simulation.

I actually hope the Yard takes off and ultimately forces 2K to release APF 2K8 style gameplay.

The owners will vote 'Yes' on exclusive license next week. We can only hope TTWO/2K/VC does in fact "blurs the lines", and releases a full simulation game under the guise of arcade. Full bait and...

If you cross-reference credits from the NFL 2K Series, APF 2K8, NBA 2K20 you'll see the core group of guys, who I imagine built the "2K Football Engine" are still there.

So the question becomes....
