Re: Who did you hit your first Home run of The Show 20 with?

Solo shot to lead off the 2nd with Vlad Jr. off Lance McCullers. Got the “That Felt Good!” trophy leading off the 3rd with Cavan “Keith Law says I cant hit” Biggio.

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

Haha, I was afraid you’d say that.

I’m hesitant to move SWR seeing as they just picked him up, from a realism POV (not that the Jays doing anything like this is realistic at all), but I think...

Re: Official MLB 20 the Show Trade Discussion Thread

Hey guys, thanks for doing this thread again, it always makes my Show experience that much better.

I’m doing my standard 30-team control Jays franchise, and I’m finally looking to make a bit of a...

Re: Official MLB 19 the Show Trade Discussion

You guys mind showing your work on this one? My rough calculations put Pillar at roughly 15M in surplus over his final two years of control using bWAR. In real life, I couldn’t see Pillar getting...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

A Donaldson trade is kind of hard to envision. We have Donaldson for Flaherty+Greene in the log, but the closest comparable prospect the Cubs would have would be Alzolay, who isn’t the prospect...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

I like Maese as a fit, the Padres like their arms young and projectable. Romano is fine but already 25, Harris is one of the worst 1st round picks we’ve made in my lifetime, haha.

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

In the spreadsheet, there’s a deal involving Machado for Schwarber/Alzolay, but that might need some tweaking depending on how everyone’s performing. That would also necessitate moving Bryant into LF...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

I like a lotto ticket valuation for Ross. If he could stay healthy he might be worth something, but the guy has been absolutely brutalized by injury and the very real possibility that he blows up 5...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

My original idea was that Robles moves to centre, pushing Eaton into left or right, leaving one player they’d need to sign for a corner spot. Gives them one last year to compete with Harper and an...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Not at all. I saw what I thought was either a bad trade or a miscalculation of Machados value on my part. I personally don’t have the players as that far apart, as rentals, and I came to crowdsource...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Interesting to chew. The positional flexibility is definitely an asset, but given my JD is batting better than Machado (again) I’m gonna call it a wash. Treating both as rentals, so not gonna be as...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Thanks for the reply. I understand the “in-state” rivalry at play affects the return, im simply trying to understand (or start a dialogue, if you prefer) on Donaldson/Machado. I’m obviously biased...

Re: MLB 18 The Show Trade Discussion

Hey guys, so quick question about how we’re tabulating surplus value + a proposed deal of my own. I’m thinking of loading up for the Vlad era as the Jays, so Donaldson is likely on the move. On our...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Jays fan here, so also wearing goggles.

However, Donaldson and Osuna have been discussed in this thread. If you're in 2017, and both are performing to career norms, you're looking at a good haul...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Nope, but I wouldn't blame the other team for asking for him if all I was offering was a 1B prospect. If you want a guy who might put up 8 WAR, you have to be offering something a little bit harder...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Missed the 2018 part.

Even still, kind of hard to trade for a guy like Donaldson while withholding your best prospects. Smith is a nice piece, but I think the Jays would have better offers than a...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Speaking for the Jays, Donaldson isn't a Met without Conforto or Rosario headlining the deal. Gotta give to get.

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

Don't know why WSH would deal off their major league roster when they have plenty of prospects they could swing a trade with. Robles/Soto/Fedde could headline a deal for an elite reliever with...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

I wouldn't either, but Conforto is one of those odd cases where he's breaking out in real life but might not be in the game. Perfect example was my test franchise where he went something like...

Re: MLB 17 Trade Discussion Thread

How are the Mets doing? They were a good fit for Donaldson in another trade we agreed upon earlier, and have Rosario, Conforto and some interesting pitching prospects to dangle plus a need at 3B/SS.
