The license is for a simulation game using NFL players and logos. As APF2k8 showed, a game can be made using no longer active players, but it could not have actual NFL teams, logos, etc.

I apologize if I read it wrong, but I think he said "thank god" that they kept the skill stick, not that they took away hybrid.

Thank you for your thoughts! I play similar modes to you - pretty much just offline franchise. It sounds like I may just stick with 23. I don't usually create a team.

While I agree with most of your analysis, I think the sales numbers of APF2K8 are not dispositive of whether an unlicensed football game could sell. APF2K8 lacked a franchise mode. No multi-season...

I'd be curious also. I have not looked at Football Mogul for several years. Back then, it was not even close to Front Office Football, but I have no idea how much Mogul has improved over the years.
