Re: The Official 2013-14 Regular Season Talk Thread

Wow, just noticed that the #1 seed in the east (Boston) wouldn't even make the playoffs in the west. The conferences are really out of balance this year.

Re: The Official 2013-14 Regular Season Talk Thread

The worst part was the lady who dumped the beer on his head. I mean, really? Taking his helmet wasn't enough?

Re: The Official 2013-14 Regular Season Talk Thread

Just saw that. Absolutely ridiculous. I knew Chicago fans were obnoxious, but this takes the cake.

Re: Gregg Williams ran a bounty system in NOLA

Yeah, Titans would be a safe landing spot for him. He can't run a bounty system if his players aren't capable of making tackles.

Re: Lockout/CBA Discussion Thread

Ironically, teams like Phoenix earn the other owners more money than teams like Toronto. I know it sounds crazy, but bear with me...

If the league removed the Leafs, league revenues would drop by...

Re: Lockout/CBA Discussion Thread

I know every city has unique circumstances, but downtown Nashville was an absolute dump 20 years ago. I won't go into the whole revitalization story, but at the time, you had to go to an adjacent...

Re: Coaching Carousel Thread 2012-13

I don't think it's that bad of a hire. Tennessee has got to be a scary job. Fans are going to expect 8+ wins/year, and you have to play 8 SEC games (including Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South...

Re: Lockout/CBA Discussion Thread

I'm not missing hockey nearly as much as I was expecting. Instead of paying for tickets and going to games, I've booked a couple of extra vacations this year. And instead of getting Center Ice,...

Re: What are the most despised teams in the NHL?

For me, it's the Blackhawks. Can't stand their fans.

Re: Week 5: Tennessee Titans (1-3) @ Minnesota Vikings (3-1)

The worst scoring defense of all time was the 1966 Giants who gave up 35.8 ppg.

Through the first 4 games, the Titans defense is averaging 37.8 ppg.

Re: Greg Schiano 'cheap shot' question

Gotta side with Schiano on this one. Every time I watch my team try to close one out in the victory formation, I'm always just a tad nervous that they are going to fumble the snap. Just because you...

Defense Grid 2

I'm not sure how many people here have played the original Defense Grid (frequently one of the featured games during the Steam sales), but they are raising money right now via Kickstarter for the...

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

That was just assuming that they didn't have any cash (ie - worst case scenario). It's also possible that one of them has $27 million sitting in their checking account, I don't know.

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

It's not too bad --- they just need to borrow the money from the bank and pay back the interest. $27 million loan at 4% over 1 year is ~$1 million, which isn't too bad. I did the math last night...

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

Not sure if this was the smartest move, but it feels really, really good. Glad that we've still got a seat at the adults' table.

I think the Preds have got to let Weber go. This contract is way too dangerous. The Preds can afford Weber, but they can't afford an injured Weber...

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

Cash flow shouldn't be a problem considering how low interest rates are right now. Just borrow the money and pay it back when you're on the back end of the contract. The Preds were prepared to...

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

I heard the same rumors, but the only reason the Preds were trying to trade Weber was because they couldn't get him to agree to a long-term contract. If the Preds match, the reason for trading Weber...

Re: The Official NHL 2012 Off-Season Thread

I guess it's also possible that he would be willing to accept the same money if the Preds can match, and this was his way of escalating negotiations so something is signed before the new CBA makes a...
