I would rather have the 1927 Yankees and the 1995 Expos subbed into the main roster set, for a season or playoff sim.

Is there a way to do that?

In my view, having played the game for 15 years and only recently figuring out Directional, it's a lot more subtle than that.

Yep, agree with all the above.

I was not writing a full explanation. I just wanted to get across that you have to pick the stick direction before the pitch, and you have to HOLD THE STICK THERE...

If you are describing something akin to PCI hitting, wherein you try to move the stick to where the ball will cross the plate, I could not disagree more.

Back when I was obsessed with Showdowns (I may never do one again), I worked to maximize my advantage for every moment. Learned which pitchers I would face in them and set up R/L advantages, swapped...

Yes, beat 2nd and 3rd inning after multiple attempts and having to work insanely hard to maximize my advantages. (subbing players for each moment, depending on circumstances, etc.)
