i'm assuming protected rivals basically means no matter what, they play every year in conference play, even when they're not in the same division. that's what I got from the context of the video....

Thanks guys. I wish we knew the answer to this question because there are multiple ways that make sense from a gameplay standpoint, but it's going to be interesting to see which direction they go.
