Re: buccaneer blog

Game 3 Bucs VS Seahawks

Not many games where your defense gives up 27 points and you are happy with them, but in this game the bucs defense fought Valiantly, but just ran out of gas late due to the offense not playing well at all. The bucs recorded a ACQB franchise record 5 sacks, in the game, which is about 1/4 of all the sacks we had last season, and held the Seahawks running game in check until the last quarter, where coach Twosilk had to use his backups due to fatigue with his starters. This game seemed to be a coming out party for SS Allen Walters who had 5 tackles a couple of passes defended, and three assists. Also saw Big John Henderson finally show his face in the middle of the d-line.
But offensively The bucs again struggle, as Free agent Deion Miller again struggles with only 21 yards on 10 carries, the oline is not meshing, leading to changes being made there this week as LT Bo Berg will get the start as will C Matt Birk, hoping to jump start that unit, also the bucs Fired new offensive coordinator Bobby Bowden, and have replaced him with former Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach. Bobby truly has let the game pass him by, and he wont be missed around these parts, look for Devontae Sanders to play a bigger role in the offense this week after his game last week where he had 240 All purpose yards, including a beautiful run after catch on a screen pass. The bucs are at 1-2 and have the Desperate Falcons coming to town, I know that Coach TrojanMan has been unhappy with his secondary play as well as his oline play, I expect them to have all of their weaknesses shored up for this game. The loser of this game can almost start planning for next season as 1-3 is not where the bucs want to be and the falcons with a loss would drop to 1-4, and that is not what Coach Trojan had in mind with the moves that he made in the offseason. the chants of Diva have already started in Atlanta, where Trojan has set roots in for the first time in a while, and looks to be happy, but will he actually get ran out of town, a loss to the bucs, could have the Falcons calling up Don Shula to see what he is doing on sunday.

TWO DESPERATE TEAMS ONLY ONE CAN WIN!!!!

Good luck Trojan!!!

Bucs VS. Falcons

The bucs come right out the gate and march down the field and score on a Carson Palmer TD pass, to make the score 7-0 and then get the quick 3 and out, so up 7-0 and with the ball back everything seemed great in Bucville, then Palmer back to pass, throws a Pick and the wheels come off from there. Once again The defense while giving up 27 points played well enough to win, injuring Matt Ryan on a seemingly innocent tackle, putting Darren Sproles on the shelf thruout the game, but once again the offense, in particular the offensive line, is just not playing well at all. not opening running lanes, not holding key blocks. this is the last game that we will play with this team in this state!! The bucs are imploding this team, Not a fire sale, just looking to exchange some pieces(see trading block)

Re: buccaneer blog

That was a deceptive game. You came out of the gate running and had me worried. I was livid when Ryan went out for the game, and even more mad at Sproles for wussing out. Your defense played really well. I didn't have a single big play all game.

Re: buccaneer blog

Bucs vs. Raiders

The buc defense had no answer for the Raiders offense in this game, they got ran over, thrown over, and outplayed, video game of the game was sent to the league office for review, but league found no evidence of any "foul play" during the game. Darren Mcfadden ran for over a 150 yards in the game and tristan Riley continued his assault on the rookie of the year race with a 11 for 17 effort, with 3 td's including one with a minute left in the game which led to a post game rant by coach twosilk into league headquarters, where they said his defense should have kept playing, (starting to think they dont like him in that office) but this loss showed every wart that this team had. The Only Stat of any mention for the bucs was Dallas Arndt last years' number one pick for the bucs had 2 sacks other than that, the team just did not show up.

Re: buccaneer blog

Bucs vs. Panthers

The Bucs did not even show up for this game, nothing worked, offense, defense, nothing. The Panthers dominated the bucs like a pro team against their cheerleaders. the bucs lose 34-3 in a game that was not even that close, this game cost a couple of starters their jobs, and almost cost Coach Twosilk his job.

This team needs to turn things around, and with the much improved Giants next it does not look any better for the pirates in pewter.

Re: buccaneer blog

Bucs vs. giants

This is by far my favorite game that I have ever played in ACQB!!!

Kudos to bigfnJoe!! he plays a great game of madden! No gaming of the gaming, no cute blitz packages, just lines up and plays the game!!! Truly enjoyed this game!!

Now to the recap:

The Giants take the opening kickoff and control the clock for almost the entire quarter, with a great balance of playcalling, pounding Jacobs, mixing in Brown for a change of pace, and some timely passing from Eli Manning, once again the bucs could not get off the field on third down. Brandon Jacobs then rips off a 15 yarder against a exhausted buc defense, Carson Palmer comes out and throws a pick on the bucs second play from scrimmage to put the tired buc defense back on the field. the giants again take their time in dissecting the buc defense and patiently take up half of the second quarter before settling for a lawrence tynes FG putting the bucs down 10-0 after a quarter and a half, and having ran only 2 plays. the bucs get their offense going late in the second half and put together a drive that ends the half with a Olindo Mare field goal to make the halftime score 10-3 G-men The bucs defense saves the day as Carson Palmer throws two more picks in the third quarter, but the Giants can't captialize and the bucs manage a field goal making the score 10-6 going into the final stanza, and now the game gets good. Coach Twosilk sensing that Carson was not comfortable against the Giants pass rush goes all spread formations in the fourth quarter, putting 4-5 WR's on the field seemed to open passing lanes and take some of the pressure off of Carson, he responds by leading the bucs down the field for a TD to give them the lead with 9 minutes left in the game. The Giants retake the lead with 3 minutes to go with a beautiful drive by Joe. The bucs appear headed for certain defeat, they drive into the giant redzone, but come up short on a fourth down with under 2 minutes to go, but they have all of their timeouts, they stop the Giants on a big third and short and get the ball back with 51 seconds left, Carson Palmer leads them down the field and 4 plays later hits player of the game Seantrel Blakely in the endzone as he makes a leaping catch right in front of a Giant safety, to win the game for the bucs.

Great game Joe!!!

Re: buccaneer blog

Bucs VS. Chargers

Twosilk's bucs had this game circled on the calendar for two reasons one, a chance to play against their former QB, and to slap shiz around, but since he retired to go play The Legend of Zelda, Twosilk was faced with ACQB newcomer Dubb40.

The game starts off with a bang as Devontae Sanders rips off a 76 yard run on the first play of the game behind a big block by Chris Samuels and once This kid gets in open field there aren't many defenders that are going to catch him.The Chargers control the clock and get a field goal to close the gap. The bucs again get a big play and 3 plays into the drive Carson Palmer hits Anthony Gonzalez who was singled up for a big 50 yard TD pass to make it 14-3 the bucs sense a possible winning streak and the defense on the next possession makes that even more a possibility with a pick 6 by Asher Allen to put the bucs up 21-3, but if you thought the Chargers would just lie down and let the bucs have their way, not these Chargers, as the get back to back touchdowns, taking advantage of buc turnovers, and bad defense to get within 21-17. that is as close as Mack Jackson and the buc defense would let it get, after the bucs get a field goal to go back up 7 the defense stiffens and doesnt give up any more points until 47 seconds left in the game, Devontae Sanders added a second TD to ice it late in the fourth. The bucs have won 2 straight, but have the Cowboys next and they are playing to return to the playoffs again.

Player of the game-Devontae Sanders 12 carries 134 yards, 2TD's
