Falcons defeat Titans 24-20 on late Matty Ice pass to Julio..

The Atlanta Falcons hosted the 8-1 Tennessee Titans in a game that the Falcons labeled as "war" even before the game started. The Titans weren't the normal visitors who normally would crush under the pressure of the bright lights. No, they were/are a legitimate threat in the AFC, and their record agrees with them. And with them being one of the hottest teams in the AFC and the Falcons tied for the best record in the NFC.. You just knew it was gonna explode... Pause.

The Falcons lost the coin toss and got the pigskin first. Matt Ryan had a QBR of 126.3. He had an efficient outing as he posted 20-29 for 325 yds, which included 3 TDs and 1InT that he still regrets. Ryan had a 68% completion percentage on the day. Michael Turner had 19 carries which got him 72 yards against a stout Titans run defense. Tony Gonzalez had another good game recording 6 receptions for 79 yds. R. White found holes in the zone defense as he caught 5 passes for 60 yds, a few were critical. Harry Douglas, the odd-man out, showed what he can do as he got 5 rec- 129 yds. Julio "the Great" Jones had 3 catches for 52 yds and 2 tds (the second being the game winner with a minute left). Curtis Lofton led his team with 11 tackles 1 tfl, 1 ff (rec by J. Sanders).

The Titans arrived to the war-room.. And put up impressive numbers. Jake Locker looked sharp as he didn't turn the football over. But both QBs should have thrown atleast 3 picks. But Locker ended with 13-24 for 293 yards and 1 td. Chris Johnson (pause) had 22 rushes which got him 76 yds. He also recorded 4 rec- 87 yds. K. Britt scored Brent Grimes on a "Go-route" that made his stats look like 4 receptions for 122yds and a score. N. Washington had 3 rec for 55 yds. M. Austin (who was covered by DeAngelo Hall all game except when the Titans went into a "Titan Empty" formation caught 1 catch for 19 yds (Which Hall wasn't apart of). The Titans Defense got 1 Sack and 1 INT. Good game to Cutthroat.

Falcons defeat Vikings on late clutch drive from Matty Ice. 34-31 ATL.

Another game in the house that Matty Ice is building. Another defeat for the opposing team. At this rate, Matt Ryan might just go 7-1 at home this season, which is remarkable. The Falcons established dominance through most of the game (3 quarters worth). But after his misfires and misreads, Minnesota got right back in the game after a strong effort on special teams, defense and offense. Matt Ryan got the football back with less than 2 minutes left. He quickly hit Harry Douglas on a strike.. Then, Turner and Ryan drove right down the field, masterfully.. For the win.

Christian Ponder was surprisingly solid (pause). A few scrambles and after getting hit a lot early, he rebounded late. He went 14-20 for 186 Yards and 2 TDs with 1INT. Adrian Peterson had a strong showing as he had 22 rushes, for 101 yards, and 1 TD on the day. Kyle Rudolph had 5 receptions, 42 yards, 2 scores. Percy Harvin who was covered by DeAngelo Hall all game recorded 4 receptions, 65 yards. Bernard Berrian had 2 catches, 39 yards. On the defensive side of the football, Kevin Williams had 4 tackles, 2 sacks and pressure in the interior a lot. Antoine Winfield recorded 3 tackles and 1 INT before being lost to a 3 week injury.

Matt Ryan had a great game statistically. Matt had 18 completions out of 22 attempts. 287 Yards. 3TDs, 1INT and a remarkable 81.8 completion %. Michael Turner was the workhorse of the game as he had 22 rushes, 147 yards and 1TD. Harry Douglas is still on fire, recording 5 catches, 119 Yards, 1TD. Tony Gonzalez, the old man had 5 receptions, 58 yards. Roddy White got pressed most of the day but ended up getting 4 receptions, 91 yards, 1 TD. Julio Jones, who has been remotely quiet had 2 catches, 12 Yards, 1TD. As far as defense is concerned, Mike Peterson had a strong game w/ 5 Tackles, 1 sack. Johnathan Babineaux added 4 tackles, 1 sack. Dunta Robinson who played primarly as the nickelback today had 3 tackles, 1 sack. Ray Edwards contributed with 1 sack on Ponder. James Sanders caught 1 pick early in the 1st Qtr. Curtis Lofton added 1 Forced Fumble to his season stat sheet, late in the game..

Next week, the Falcons go against Andre Johnson.. The fraudulent button.

Falcons go to Houston ; continue winning ways in the NFC

Even though the owner of the Buccs and Panthers didn't want it to happen. It happened regardless. Even though Arizona and Philly jokingly wants Truth dead, Atlanta rolls out and produces despite what people say in the NFC. The Falcons went to Houston, Texas, to take on the Texans in a nationally televised game that saw the Texans absolutely stifle the Falcons run game and because of that, Matty Ice cut loose for the first time in about 5 games.

The Texans controlled the tempo during the 1st quarter and at the end of the 2nd, but other than that, this game was dominated by Atlanta. Atlanta ran the ball 28 times. They passed the ball 28 times. You couldn't ask for a better ratio than that on offense. Matt Schaub led his Texans as he went 14-24 for 233yds 1 td and 3 costly Ints. Arian Foster handled the bulk of the offense as he had 19 carries for 82 yards. Owen Daniels had a prime time game as he recorded 6 catches, 139 yards, and 1 td. Andre Johnson who was checked by Dunta Robinson all afternoon had 3 catches and 53 yards. Johnathan Joseph contributed to the defensive cause adding 1 pick.

Other than that, Atlanta was rolling on mostly all cylinders. Matt Ryan completed just over 64% of his passes. Matt Ryan went 18-28 349 and had 1 td and a pick. Mike Turner was held in check as he garnered 27 rushes for 56 yards, but had 4 tds (1 receiving) on the day. Julio Jones, who had been laying low lately had 155 yards receiving on 4 catches. Harry Douglas continued his torrid pace in the offense catching 7 passes, 80 yards. Roddy White had 2 catches for 65 yards. Tony G. had 4 receptions, 44 yards. Corey Peters had 4 tackles, and 2 sacks. Mike Peterson added 4 tackles, and 1 forced fumble to his resume. James Sanders also had 3 tackles and 1 int. Thomas DeCoud was active all day defending passes but finished with 2 tackles, 1 int, 3 passes defensed. Brent Grimes had 1 tackle, 1 pick and 1 pass defensed out of the slot.

The Falcons DBs did a good job on Andre, which were their primary concern. They held Arian Foster to under 100 yards and held Johnson to half that amount, so they felt pretty positive about themselves. 2 sacks, 3 picks and like 7 defensed passes (dropped picks). The Falcons now will set out to Carolina, where the Panthers have threatened them.. Don't think Matt Ryan will let that slide..

Falcons go to Canada (Carolina) ; Decimates Cam Newton and Emmy

The Atlanta Falcons who are one of the hottest teams in the league, went to Carolina to take on the Carolina Panthers. Cam Newton and his team had a lot of pre-game trash talk, berating the Falcons and saying they would injure all of their key pieces on the offensive side of the ball. The Falcons kept that in mind and went into the game trying to remind the Panthers of who is leading the division at the time. Carolina easily controlled the line of scrimmage early and had the best run defense the Falcons have played against all year, making Matt Ryan have to win the game.

Cam Newton had a horrific day as he had a 17.1 Passer rating for the day, going 9-20 82 yds with 0 tds and a resounding 5 picks. Johnathan Stewart had 13 rushes, and gathered up 41 yards on the ground. Brandon Lafell was held to 2 catches, and amassed 24 yds as he wascovered by D. Hall all game. Greg Olsen caught 2 passes for 24 yards. On the defensice side of the football, Charles Johnson collected 5 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble. Eric Norwood had 5 tackles and 1 sack. Chris Gamble led the secondary with 4 tackles and a route-jumping INT (pick-6), which he "took to the cribby" (in my Bellachi voice).

Matt Ryan finished his day with a prety good 129.5 Passer rating. Matty Ice went 14-21 for 296 yds. He also had a 66 completion %. Ryan collected 3 TDs and 1 int. Michael Turner had 29 carries for an egregious 41 yards, (1.4 YPC avg) and 1 td. Roddy White had 4 catches for 104 yards. Harry Douglas continued his torrid pace with 2 catches, 84 yds, and 2 TDs. Tony Gonzalez, the old man caught another 4 receptions for 50 yards, 1 TD (his first of the season). Julio Jones had 3 catches and 47 yards with it. Ray Edwards and John Abraham each had 1 sack on the day. In the passing game for the Falcons defense, Dunta Robinson, Curtis Lofton, DeAngelo Hall, John Abraham, Thomas DeCoud all collected 1 pick. DeAngelo Hall gave up 2 catches for 24 yards. Dunta Robinson gave up 1 catch for 17 yards. Brent Grimes gave up 1 catch for 8 yards.

The game was a knockdown-dragout for the first half. But the second half was a completely different story. The Falcons will actually have a home game next week as they host the Jaguars. See ya next week.

Falcons, despite Lag.. Hold serve against resurgent Jaguars squad.

Atlanta as it stands is one of the best teams in the NFC, let alone the NFL. But they had one of their toughest tests of the year as they hosted two teams at once, one being the Jacksonville Jaguars team and the other being Madden's digital/lag. The game dropped once because of the lag and the restart didn't fair much better for the first quarter and a half. But nonetheless this is what happened in that game..

Jags : Blaine Gabbert did exactly what Atlanta did not want him to do. He was very efficient in what he was trying to do, going 14-18 for 324 Yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs. MJD was pretty much held in check by the Falcons D as they allowed 19 carries, and 74 yards from it. Mike Thomas had a great day, recording 4 catches, 73 yards (covered by Dunta Robinson.) Cecil Short had an amazing 2 catches, which got him 82 yards and 1 TD. Cecil's 77 yard-lag-induced-TD grab was in zone defense. (covered by Brent Grimes... Grimes allowed 1 catch for 5 yards in MCV) Marcedes Lewis who was the star of the Jags show had 5 catches, 149 yards, 1TD. Jason Hill had 1 catch, 15 yards (covered by shutdown corner DeAngelo Hall). Paul Posluszny added 5 tackles, 1 INT, 1 Forced fumble for his team. Dawan Landry contributed 5 tackles and 1 forced fumble. Clint Session had 1 sack, 1 INT. Russell Allen had 1 key forced fumble. The Jags caused 6 turnovers and they recovered 5 of them. They play out of their minds.

Not to be outdone.. In Week 15.. Matt Ryan completed 17-28 passes for 330 Yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTs. Michael Turner regained his Pro-Bowl form and had 23 rushes, 159 yards, and 2 TDs. Tony Gonzalez, the old veteran addes 7 catches, 76 yards, and 1 TD to his HOF resume. Julio Jones had another 100-yd day as he had 3 catches for 104 yards. Roddy White was close to that as he recorded 3 catches for 90 yards. On defense, Stephen Nicholas got 6 tackles and 1 sack. Corey Peters who had a monster game, had 4 tackles and 3 sacks. Ray Edwards contributed 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery (the trifecta) right before halftime that allowed Tony G to score. DeAngelo Hall made plays all over with 2 tackles, 1 INT, 1 sack and a pass-breakup. Dunta Robinson had 2 tackles and the clutch INT that allowed ATL to win.

Matt Ryan delivered his 6th game-winning drive of the season, when the Falcons are trailing or tied in the 4th quarter and has a knack for doing that now. Definitely pushing him into the upper echelon of elite QBs in the league. Next week, MNF matchup.. Saints Vs Falcons.

Falcons don't rest starters ; rape Buccs wives, hopes and playoff dreams.

Matt Ryan went 20-33 for a career-high 591 Yds, 6 TDs and 0 INTs. Mike Turner added 17 carries and 62 yards on the ground. Tony Gonzalez added 3 catches, 50 yds (fallin just short of 1,000 yards on the year). Julio Jones had a monstrous game with 7 catches, 213 yards, 3 TDs(NFL leading 18th receiving TD). Roddy White was not to be outdone as he shined having 7 catches, 248 yards, 2 TDs. Mike Turner also had 2 catches, 12 yards. Harry Douglas had 1 catch, 68 yards TD.

The Falcons Defense had a great game recording 2 Picks, 9 Sacks, and 2 FF. Corey Peters 4 tackles, 2 sacks (15 sacks on the season). John Abraham had 3 tackles, 2 sacks (10 on the year). M. Peterson added 8 tackles and a sack. Stephen Nicholas had a sack. D. Hall also added a sack. Curtis "5-0" Lofton had 3 tackles, 1 sack. Peria Jerry 2 tackles, sack. Brent "Optimus" Grimes had 2 INTs (6 on the year). Thomas DeCoud added 5 tackles, 1 FF. James Sanders 4 tackles, 1 FF.

Game : 1st Quarter.. Matt Ryan delivers a 66 yard TD strike to Roddy White on a Post-Pattern on Atlanta's second play of the game. 5 minutes later in the 1st.. Matt Ryan skyrockets an absolute bomb to Julio who runs past the secondary for a 84 yard TD.
3rd Quarter : Matt Ryan hooks up with Julio on a 6-yard TD pass as Julio catches his second of the day.
4th Quarter : Julio runs past defenders again as Ryan connects on a 65 yard TD pass.
Facing a Sugar Blitz.. In the 4th.. Matt Ryan throws a strike to Roddy White who was being pressed by Ronde Barber. Roddy shrugged him off, caught the pass and ran 94 yards, a new personal career best for him and Matty Ice. After the last Brent Grimes pick, Atlanta came (pause) out in Falcon-Empty and Ryan saw Harry Douglas shred the coverage which resulted in a 68 yard pass. Atlanta's Matt Ryan threw for 591 (2nd in SFL game history for Madden 12) and the team amassed 72 yards on the ground. For a total of 663 yards (without including special teams). The Buccs benched Josh Freeman in the 4th and replaced him with Josh Johnson who threw for 175 yards and rushed for 27 yards in about a half of a quarter, but couldn't amass a single point against Atlanta.. Freeman threw 2 TDs before getting benched.. But it didn't matter. Atlanta won 54-17.. Behind MVP candidates Matt Ryan, Roddy White and Julio Jones.
